How lucky are our Carson and Ravindra players to get White Fern and Otago player Eden Carson along to training today! Eden loved that there is an all girls team, something that she never had growing up and even better that they were named after her! Thank you Eden for giving your time to encourage our players and to leave them so excited about the game of cricket.

Kia Ora Team

You may be aware that Dunedin is hosting the upcoming White Ferns Series, kicking off next week. We are looking for children to take part in the match as Anthem Kids at the opening game on Thursday 5th of March, and would love to offer this opportunity to girls involved in junior cricket.
Each child selected will receive a T-shirt and cap as part of the experience. Entry to the event is free, so no tickets are required. The game starts at 11:00am, with this activity taking place beforehand, meaning children will need to leave school to attend.
Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-in, first-served basis.
Anthem Kids — 26 required | Ages 5–9 years | Must be under 125cm tall
Please register your child’s interest using the form below. I will then confirm places directly with selected families:

Let's vote!! Everyone knows Chris and all the work he does for Taieri Juniors, that's just a part of what he does for Otago junior cricket. Please vote for Chris and show him how much we appreciate everything he does for us!

SBS Bank Volunteer of the Month 🔥

Tim Page has been an ever-present volunteer in the Southland cricket community for many years, recently completing more than a decade of district age-group coaching with Invercargill Metro. A key figure in junior hardball club cricket, Tim’s dedication, passion, and willingness to keep upskilling have helped countless players develop. We hope he remains involved and continues to help drive the game forward in the region.

Chris Murphy is a hugely deserving nominee through his extensive involvement with Taieri Junior Cricket, where he gives countless hours supporting young players and helping the club thrive. He also coaches at St Hilda’s Collegiate School and with Dunedin Cricket’s Year 9–10 Girls District Team. Coaching across club, school, and district environments, Chris consistently creates positive, inclusive, and enjoyable experiences, particularly in the women and girls space.

Belinda has been a cornerstone of Kurow Cricket Club for the past 10 years. She goes above and beyond with administration, team and draw organisation, uniforms, and sideline support on game days. With this being her final year before her youngest heads to high school, she will be sorely missed and is thoroughly deserving of recognition.

Amy, the Junior Cricket Administrator in Wānaka, puts in countless behind-the-scenes hours to ensure junior cricketers are supported and organised. Her dedication has been instrumental in the continued growth of junior cricket in the region. Amy’s passion for creating positive experiences makes her a valued volunteer and a fantastic asset to the Otago Country Cricket community.

Hi everyone, we hope you have all had a lovely break and are keen to get back into some cricket! We would like to thank all players who trialed for the section 1 team, it is always a hard decision on who to select. We have also taken feedback from coaches and the revised teams for the rest of the season are below. These teams are always a challenge to put together, we try our best to ensure kids are playing with friends but also in a grade that suits their ability so they have a positive experience. These teams are designed with an eye towards the next few seasons as well. At this stage there is no game Waitangi weekend so the first game back will be the next weekend, therefore trainings will officially start back that week, or earlier on a team by team basis as per the coach. As always any questions please feel free to contact Greg on 027 378 5739. Thank you everyone.
