What a fantastic way to finish the week!
This afternoon our students enjoyed a range of fun activities organised by our House Leaders as part of Red Nose Day. It was great to see everyone getting involved and having fun with friends!

🌍✈️ Room 3 took a wonderful trip around the world today! ✈️🌍

Our amazing flight attendant, Kate, served light refreshments as we travelled the globe, making special stops in countries that are meaningful to our tamariki and their whānau. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the diverse cultures and connections within our classroom.

One of our favourite destinations was Germany, where we enjoyed a virtual visit with Sabine and even learnt how to dance the Polka! 💃🕺

What an engaging and memorable learning adventure filled with culture, fun, and plenty of smiles! 🌎❤️

Incredible Opportunity at the 2026 Steven Adams Community Camp yesterday!

Out of more than 3,000 hopeful young athletes across the region, 500 kids were selected to attend the prestigious Steven Adams Community Camp at Saxton Stadium yesterday—and three of our very own Tapawera Area School students made the cut!

A huge congratulations to Ayla, Meeka, and Arlo for being chosen to represent our school community.
Throughout the action-packed day, NBA star Steven Adams and his team of coaches worked hands-on with the students, teaching essential basketball fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and—above all—having fun on the court.

Ayla, Meeka, and Arlo had an absolute blast soaking in the atmosphere, sharpening their skills, and learning directly from one of New Zealand's greatest sporting legends.

Awesome day! We are so lucky to have Kate from Tasman Bay Guardians helping us teach those wonderful tamariki about our native trees. Thank you to MCC(Motueka Catchment Collective) and Tapawera Connect for making it possible and thank you to Mikayla Eyles for organising the day.
This is great team work and also such an important environmental learning aspect for all tamariki.

Rugby 7's Tournament
Yesterday, our Year 4/5/6 squad and our Year 7/8 squad—headed to Motueka Sports Park to compete in the Rugby 7s tournament!

Both teams gave it their all, playing four hard-fought games in their pools. Across a full day filled with exciting wins, tight draws, and a few tough losses, every single player showed fantastic sportsmanship, determination, and skill on the field.

We are so proud of the effort everyone put in! Beyond the scoreboards, it was awesome to see our students learning new skills, catching up with friends, and having a blast representing our school.

A massive THANK YOU to:
Joe from TRU Rugby for running such a fabulous event, and for coming out to our school prior to the tournament to run coaching sessions with our kids.
Leigh and Tegan for taking the teams, managing the day, and cheering on our players!

A chilly start for all Stanley Brook this morning 🥶
Not for this crew of industrious neighbors! Upper Stanley Brook now has a bus shelter at the end of the road for our local kids!

A big shout out to Sabine Reinert and partner Andrew for clearing a space out front of their property, Andrew Burnett for donation of shelter and cartage and Lukas for the fiddly wire bits lol
A great team effort by caring neighbors 😀
