Yesterday I took Cassie,Evana,Bonnie and Maverick to Wellington to represent St Joseph’s and South Canterbury in the NZ final of Lit Quiz the Sport of Reading. They finished a very credible 9th after 5 rounds of difficult buzzer questions. Very proud of their effort and enthusiasm. We had a wonderful day with time for a Cable Car ride and visit to Te Papa. Special thanks to Tom Laming for driving and accompanying us.
Well Done everyone !

Room 9 (and friends) enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Elloughton Gardens yesterday. The residents are very much enjoying our school visits, and we are learning patience, and developing our communication skills at an inter-generational level. We also had some good laughs!

We had another picture perfect afternoon for our cross country/ fun run today ☀️ It was great to see so many students do the ‘challenge by choice’ race that included our competitive runners. The fun run is always a highlight with our older students supporting younger and many adults joining in. Tino Pai to everyone for a great effort 👏
A huge thank you to Mrs Talbot for all of her preparation to ensure everyone has an enjoyable afternoon 🙌

Our school community shared a special morning at our School and Parish Mass, celebrating Pentecost. It was a double celebration as we also witnessed a beautiful Baptism, welcoming new members into our faith family.

A Mass this special takes a village, and we have some important thank-yous to share:

* Mrs Sarah Stuart, our Director of Religious Studies, for her mahi and dedication in coordinating such a meaningful service
* Mrs Lucy O’Brien: for her wonderful work with our school choir
* Mrs Carrie Cooper: for being available for our singing practices and playing for us so beautifully throughout the Mass
* Father Tang for leading Mass
* To all those who stepped up to lead us in prayer and fulfil other roles - you did a fantastic job!

Days like today remind us of the strength and spirit of our school and community. ☺️
