Congratulations TBHS Old Boys Baxter and Ryan!

The next generation of Future Black Sticks is set to take the next step on the international stage, with Hockey New Zealand announcing its Men's and Women's Under-21 squads.

A massive congratulations to Baxter Mason and Ryan Caldwell who have been named as one of the 20 players in the New Zealand Under 21 Men's team as they begin their campaign towards the FIH Junior Hockey World Cup Qualifiers in Australia this October.

𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀’ 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗫𝗩 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗱.

It came down to the final minutes.

A fourth try late in the last match handed Christchurch Boys' High School the South Island Boys' Schools Network 1st XV title - a fitting finish to a season characterised by tight games and high-quality rugby.

11 schools. Nelson to Invercargill. 55 matches. And a Magic Round over King's Birthday weekend that brought boys, school leaders and whole communities together to celebrate boys' education.
Congratulations to CBHS on the win, and to Southland (2nd) and St Bede's (3rd) on the podium.

Thank you to every player, coach and supporter who made the first season what it was. And this is just the start. Beyond the rugby, our schools are already collaborating on wellbeing, leadership and learning - with more fixtures and shared events to come.

Here's to season two, and to a growing network of schools backing boys to thrive.

Congratulations to TBHS Old Boy Lachlan Lovett and current students Edward White (Year 10) and Harvey Metcalf (Year 9), who represented the Timaru Clay Target Club at last weekend's South Canterbury Trapshooting Competition. They were part of a team that brought home two trophies—awesome shooting! It's fantastic to see our past and present students representing our school with such pride and exceptional conduct.
