The Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Department (CLDD) proudly recognizes LACHI Handicrafts, an MSME from the City of Calamba, for representing Filipino craftsmanship at the 2026 Taean International Horticultural-Healing Expo in Taean-gun, Republic of Korea. Lachi Handicrafts, specializing in floral fashion accessories primarily made from clay, is one of the Philippine delegates participating through the ALAFOP Federation of the Philippines Inc.
As one of the exhibitors representing the Philippines, Lachi Handicrafts joins four other Filipino companies in showcasing locally crafted products at the Expoโs International/Industry Pavilion. Their booth stands alongside exhibitors from different countries, each highlighting their own crafts, culture, and creative products. This participation marks a significant milestone for the enterprise, bringing its brand and artistry to the international stage for the first time.
The Taean International Horticultural-Healing Expo is an international event focused on horticulture, wellness, healing, cultural exchange, and nature-inspired innovation. It is being held from April 25 to May 24, 2026, at Anmyeondo Kkotji Coastal Park in Taean-gun, South Korea. It features horticultural displays, international pavilions, wellness spaces, creative industry showcases, and cultural exchange activities. The event also highlights how horticulture can be connected with well-being, sustainability, innovation, and global collaboration.
The MSMEโs products naturally align with the theme of the Expo, as its floral accessories reflect nature, beauty, artistry, and healing. Through handcrafted clay floral fashion pieces, the enterprise showcases not only creativity but also the skill and dedication of local women crafters behind each product.
Through this international participation, the enterprise hopes to promote Filipino talent and Calambeรฑo craftsmanship on a global platform; empower local women crafters by bringing their work to a wider audience; build connections with international buyers and partners; expand its brand presence in the global market; and open opportunities for future collaborations and export.
This achievement reflects the potential of Calamba MSMEs to grow beyond local markets and demonstrate that homegrown products, when supported and developed, can stand proudly alongside international brands.
