The courtesy visit of the 801st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion Commander of the Reserve Force to the DILG Provincial Director Major Jinky Maquelabit PA (Res) aims to strenathen coordination and partnership between the military and local government. This is to ensure better disaster response, peace and order and community support programs for the people of the province of Northern Samar.

Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. said government officials who side with over the West Philippine Sea should consider resigning if they cannot uphold the Philippines' official position.

Teodoro stressed that public officials swear to uphold the and Philippine laws, including the country's position on the West Philippine Sea and the 2016 Arbitral Award.
