A fire broke out at a residence in Sitio Purok 3 and was immediately responded to and extinguished.

Incident Details:

* Hazard: Fire at Purok 3
* Fire Out: 2:40 PM, August 15
* Casualty: None
* Families Affected: One (1)
* Property Damage: House of R. Anoling and an electrical post

Punong Barangay Ada Lapina immediately left the BADAC planning session to attend to the scene and oversee the response.

We thank the Tisa Fire Brigade for promptly providing assistance, especially since the affected residence was adjacent to the Petron Gas Station.

With hotter weather expected with the advent of El Niรฑo, we advise all residents to take extra precautions against fire. Please check your homeโ€™s electrical wiring, avoid overloading electrical outlets and circuits, and always attend to stoves and other cooking equipment while in use.

Let us all remain vigilant and help keep our homes and community safe.

SK Councilor Dickie Vebora and members of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) Team conducted a strategic planning session to map out programs and practices aimed at strengthening the barangayโ€™s capacity to prepare for and respond to disasters.

Just recently, two programs implemented by Councilor Vebora and fellow SK membersโ€”Oplan Kat-on and the Junior SKey Workers Training Programโ€”were selected as finalists for the Philippine SK Awards.

During the planning session, the disaster team, led by BDRRM Head ๐‰๐จ๐ฒ ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ ๐จ๐ฌ, together with Tisa Fireโ€™s ๐†๐ฐ๐ž๐ง๐๐ฒ๐ฅ ๐‚๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐š๐œ๐จ, identified key needs and areas for improvement to help make Barangay Tisa more resilient to the threats of flooding, fire, landslides, and other calamities.

Kap ๐€๐๐š ๐‹๐š๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐š, thru Assistant E. Babiera, outlined his expectations and agenda for the BDRRM.

Personnel from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Cebu City Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CCENRO) visited Barangay Tisa to inform barangay officials of an upcoming inspection and assessment at South Hills Subdivision, which is located within the barangay.

The inspection and assessment will evaluate the possible environmental and community impacts of the proposed road-widening and slope-protection project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), as well as a proposed subdivision development on the Buhisan side.
