LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte โ Youth Development Officers (YDOs) from the cities and municipalities of Ilocos Norte convened for the 2nd Quarter Youth Development Officers' Meeting on June 24, 2026, at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Ilocos Norte Capitol.
The meeting served as a platform to discuss key updates, coordinate upcoming activities, and strengthen youth development initiatives across the province.
Among the agenda discussed were updates on the Ilocos Norte Youth Online Database, preparations for the 2026 Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, SK Mandatory Training, SK End-of-Term Activities, accreditation of Local Youth Development Officers, Monitoring and Evaluation Reports through the SK Web Portal, and the mapping of Review and Examination Assistance Programs in the province.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the discussion on the establishment of City and Municipal Teen Centers, led by Ms. Janet London of the Population, Gender and Development Office. The session highlighted the importance of creating youth-friendly spaces that promote adolescent health, development, participation, and protection.
Participants were likewise briefed on the upcoming Linggo ng Kabataang Sirib (LiNKS) 2026. Mx. Weenter P. Ventura, Youth Development Officer III and Overall Director of LiNKS 2026, presented the activities and initiatives lined up for this year's celebration of youth leadership, creativity, volunteerism, and nation-building.
The meeting also marked the creation of the Technical Working Group for the establishment of the Association of Youth Development Officers of Ilocos Norte (AYDO Ilocos Norte). Facilitated by Mr. Willie Jake B. Sib-at, Youth Development Officer IV, the group shall finalize the proposed Constitution and By-Laws of the organization to further strengthen collaboration among YDOs in the province.
The quarterly meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Ilocos Norte to advancing youth development and empowering young Ilocanos as partners in community and nation-building.
