BFP Lasam Engages Youth Training and Supports Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’

As part of the SPES Program, personnel of Lasam Fire Station, under the supervision of SFO4 Darwin Dante A Agatep, Officer-in-Charge, conducted Basic Firefighting Skills orientation for participating students. The activity included hands-on training on proper hose throwing techniques and the correct donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), providing the youth with practical knowledge and firsthand experience of firefighting operations. Through this activity, the students gained a deeper appreciation of fire safety, discipline, teamwork, and the vital role of firefighters in protecting lives and property.

In addition, the personnel of Lasam Fire Station also actively participated in the Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off and Symposium, supporting the Department of Educationโ€™s initiative in promoting safe, prepared, and resilient learning environments through strengthened community collaboration.

Bilang pakikibahagi sa Oplan hanDANNAH! DRRM Youth Camp 2026 na dinaluhan ng mga SPES at katuwang ng MDRRMO- Lasam, Ang mga kawani ng istasyong ito sa pangunguna ni SFO4 Darwin Dante A Agatep III ay nagsagawa ng lecture at demonstration sa basic rappelling at basic firefighting skills upang mapalawak ang kaalaman ng mga kabataan sa disaster preparedness at emergency response. Ipinakita sa mga kalahok ang tamang paggamit ng kagamitan sa rappelling gayundin ang wastong pamamaraan sa ligtas na pagbaba at pagsunod sa safety protocols. Kanilang naranasan ang actual na paggamit ng fire truck kung saan ipinakita ang tamang operasyon at paggamit ng mga kagamitan nito sa panahon ng sakuna. Layunin ng aktibidad na ito na mahubog ang kahandaan, disiplina, at mabilis na pagresponde ng mga kabataan sa oras ng sakuna at emerhensiya. Sa pamamagitan ng ganitong programa, patuloy na isinusulong ng Lasam Fire Station ang kamalayan ng komunidad tungo sa mas ligtas at mas handang pamayanan.

Personnel of this station headed by SFO4 Darwin Dante A Agatep III conducted the following activities in line with the continuous commitment of the Bureau of Fire Protection in ensuring public safety, fire prevention awareness, and community preparedness:
โ€ข Assisted the MDRRMO-Lasam in conducting a lecture on First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) on the on going "Oplan hanDANNAH: DRRM Summer Youth Camp 2026" with the theme โ€œKahandaan sa Kaligtasan para sa mga Kabataanโ€ which participated by the SPES (Special Program for Employment of Students) of Municipality of Lasam.
โ€ข Continuous coordination with barangays in Lasam to strengthen awareness and prevention of rubbish and grass fires. These efforts focus on educating communities about proper waste disposal, fire-safe practices, and the risks associated with uncontrolled burning.
โ€ข As part of โ€œOplan hanDANNAH: DRRM Summer Youth Camp 2026,โ€ personnel of this station conducted a lecture on basic firefighting skills in Lasam. The activity aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical understanding of fire safety, prevention, and proper response during fire incidents.
These initiatives were undertaken to strengthen public awareness on fire prevention and disaster risk reduction. Through these activities, the station continues to uphold its mandate of safeguarding lives and properties.

Mahalaga ang plano sa ligtas na paglikas dahil ito ang nagiging gabay ng lahat kung paano mabilis at maayos na makalalabas sa gusali kapag may sunog. Nakakatulong ito upang maiwasan ang pagkataranta at matiyak na walang maiiwan o mapapahamak. Sa pamamagitan ng malinaw na evacuation routes at meeting point, mas madaling makukumpleto ang accounting ng lahat ng tao pagkatapos ng insidente. Dahil dito, napapababa ang panganib ng pinsala at napapabilis ang pagtugon sa emerhensiya.

Personnel of Lasam Fire Station, under the supervision of SFO4 Darwin Dante A Agatep, Officer-in-Charge, continuously conduct programs and activities in support of public safety and community development.

โœ… Together with BPLO Lasam, conducted Business Joint Inspection Team (JIT) inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety standards and business regulations.

โœ… Conducted Community Fire Auxiliary Group (CFAG) Training in barangays to enhance fire safety awareness, disaster preparedness, and emergency response capabilities among Barangay Officials including Captains, Kagawads, and Secretaries.

โœ… Received office supplies and equipment from the LGU Lasam which will greatly help improve the efficiency of our operations and public service delivery.

Lasam Fire Station personnel actively participated in several significant activities this week in line with our commitment to public service, discipline, and community engagement.

Personnel headed by SFO4 Darwin Dante A Agatep III attended the traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the LGU grounds, strengthening unity and professionalism among government agencies.

In support of the 2026 TESDA-LIT Traineesโ€™ Day celebration, BFP personnel also assisted during the TESDA Color Fun Run by providing water splashing assistance to ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all participants throughout the activity.

Moreover, a regular office meeting was conducted to discuss operational updates, upcoming activities, fire safety concerns, and emergency response preparedness. These activities continue to strengthen coordination, teamwork, and effective communication within the station as we remain dedicated to serving the community with excellence and readiness

โ€ข Reviews and updates of the POPSPLAN aims to ensure that fire safety activities of the station are properly planned, well allocated, and effectively coordinated in accordance with current risks and operational requirements.
โ€ข Flushing activity at Centro 2 aims to clean and clear drainage systems to prevent blockage, flooding, and other hazards that may affect safety and sanitation in the community.
โ€ข Participation in the joint inspection team aims to inspect business establishments that have not yet secured their required business permits, ensuring proper regulatory compliance.
โ€ข Conduct of fire safety inspections ensures strict enforcement of the Fire Code of the Philippines by checking permits, safety measures, and potential hazards in establishments to prevent fire incidents.
โ€ข Barangay coordination and information dissemination aim to educate the community on fire prevention, particularly against rubbish and grass fires, to reduce fire incidents at the grassroots level.
Through the conduct of these activities, we can strengthens community preparedness and enhances overall fire safety awareness within our municipality. Sa panahon ng tag-init o tagtuyot, mabilis matuyo ang mga damo at halaman kaya madaling magliyab at magdulot ng sunog sa komunidad. Bukod dito, maaaring maging mahirap ang pag-apula ng apoy kapag kulang ang suplay ng tubig at maaaring malagay sa panganib ang buhay at ari-arian ng mga mamamayan.
