This bootcamp, through collaboration with 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜., invited experts in K-Beauty, manufacturing, marketing, and branding. Yesterday, July 29, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry – National Capital Regional Office (DTI-NCRO) successfully conducted the 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 (𝐒𝐃𝐑𝐈) 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐂𝐑 𝐌𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐬: 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 at the Model Negosyo Center Conference Room, Trade and Industry Building, Makati City. The forum was conducted in a hybrid format, bringing together participants through both face-to-face attendance and Zoom to expand access to the learning sessions.

The event formally opened with Opening Remarks by DTI-NCRO Acting Regional Director 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐀. 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐫, who underscored the importance of disaster preparedness and business continuity in strengthening MSME resilience. This was followed by a Keynote Message from MMDA Director III Shiela Gail Satura-Quingco, highlighting the importance of collaboration in building resilient businesses and communities.

The forum equipped MSMEs with practical knowledge and strategies through expert discussions on energy management and renewable energy by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐨, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫, 𝐑𝐚𝐥𝐩𝐡 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐣𝐨, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 of 𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐂𝐎; GeoRiskPH and disaster risk reduction tools by 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐄. 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐚 of 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓-𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐕𝐎𝐋𝐂𝐒; and business recovery financing by 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐌. 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨 of the 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐒𝐁𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩). The learning sessions were followed by a panel discussion moderated by 𝐏𝐚𝐨𝐥𝐨 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐱𝐚𝐬 of the 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 (𝐎𝐂𝐃), with representatives from MERALCO, DOST-PHIVOLCS, and SBCorp sharing practical insights on business continuity, disaster preparedness, and recovery.

The event also recognized the NCR Negosyong Matatag Awardees, with 𝐌𝐫. 𝐋𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐳 of 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 of 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐎𝐏𝐂 sharing their resilience journeys and best practices, inspiring fellow MSMEs to build smarter, more prepared, and sustainable businesses.

The forum concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by The OIC of 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐁𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐃) 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐲𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐋. 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚, who encouraged MSMEs to apply the knowledge gained from the forum by strengthening disaster preparedness, business continuity planning, and sustainable business practices.

The webinar provided practical insights into using AI to manage customer inquiries, automate routine responses, and improve overall service efficiency. Through the engaging discussion of Ms. Janette Toral, participants gained valuable knowledge on adopting AI solutions that complement—rather than replace—the human touch in customer service.

On July 28, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry – National Capital Regional Office (DTI-NCRO), through the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Program, in partnership with 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐁𝐂𝐂), successfully conducted an online training on 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 & 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 via Zoom

The activity was conducted as part of the SSF Capacity Building Initiatives for SSF Cooperators and their Intended Beneficiaries, which aims to enhance the management capabilities of SSF project partners and equip their beneficiaries with relevant knowledge and skills to improve business operations.

The session featured 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐥 from the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓) as the resource speaker. Participants enhanced their practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel by learning essential tools and techniques for managing inventory, tracking sales, and preparing budgets efficiently. The training highlighted the importance of digital skills in improving business operations, enabling entrepreneurs and cooperative members to organise data effectively, make informed financial decisions, and increase overall productivity.

Through this initiative, the program continues to empower intended SSF beneficiaries, entrepreneurs, cooperative members, and aspiring business owners by equipping them with practical digital competencies that support efficient business management and sustainable enterprise growth. By promoting digital literacy and the adoption of productivity tools, DTI-NCRO and its partners remain committed to fostering innovation, operational excellence, and business resilience among local enterprises.

The SDRI Forum gathers Metro Manila MSME owners and risk reduction experts to help local businesses prepare for climate and economic hazards. The Department of Trade and Industry – National Capital Regional Office (DTI-NCRO) proudly celebrates outstanding MSMEs from DTI-NCRO Area 1 for earning national recognition in the 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐠: 𝐌𝐒𝐌𝐄 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬, held in celebration of the Regional Competitiveness Committee's (RCG) 10th Anniversary. The awards honor enterprises that have demonstrated resilience, innovation, and leadership in the face of adversity.

Resilience takes many forms, and Mr. Marvin Intal of 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐎𝐏𝐂 exemplifies what it means to lead with determination, innovation, and purpose. As this year's recipient of the Small Enterprise Resilience Award, he demonstrates how adaptability, perseverance, and continuous improvement enable MSMEs to overcome challenges and seize opportunities for growth.

Sharing this recognition is Mr. Lucito B. The awards were formally conferred during the National Awarding Ceremony held on 23 July 2026 at Bai Hotel, Mandaue City, Cebu, with DTI-NCRO Acting Regional Director Jay A. Acar joining the awardees in celebrating this milestone.
