The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) Legal Internship Program (LIP) conducted an educational visit to the Senate of the Philippines with the LIP interns.

During the visit, the interns toured several key facilities within the Senate, including the Media Rooms, Plenary Hall, Museum, Library, Archives Section, and Souvenir Store. The tour provided valuable insights into the Senate's legislative functions, history, and institutional operations.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Secretary of the Senate, Atty. Renato N. Bantug, Jr., Ms. Bea Gonzales, and the External Affairs Team—Ms. Ollie Sulit, Ms. Apple Castillo, Mr. Keith Navea, and the rest of the team—for your invaluable support, assistance, and dedication. On June 29, 2026, the Legal Interns had their lecture on International Arbitration.

ASG Markk L. Perete, State Solicitor Jillian Co and Associate Solicitor Frodina Mafoxci Rafanan shared their knowledge from their capacity building regarding Ethics on International Arbitration.

“Try to be the best human being that you can be.”

A morning of coffee, conversation, and reflection marked Kape at Kwentuhan with the Chief as Solicitor General Darlene Marie B. Berberabe spent time with Batch Sinaglahi 2026 of the Office of the Solicitor General Legal Internship Program.

The program opened with remarks from Assistant Solicitor General George Ortha II and was followed by “Darling Time,” where selected interns had the opportunity to engage the Chief on topics ranging from career and public service to family and personal growth. She shared candid reflections on leadership, the importance of maintaining balance, and the value of remaining grounded regardless of one’s position.

In her message to the interns, the Chief spoke of the OSG’s unique role as the Tribune of the People, emphasizing that every lawyer must always be guided by what serves the best interests of the Filipino people. She highlighted the need for wisdom, courage, and integrity in making difficult decisions, noting that excellence must always be matched by honesty and accountability.

She likewise encouraged the aspiring lawyers to hold firmly to their ideals, especially when faced with challenges and difficult choices. Above all, she reminded them that success in the legal profession is measured not only by competence, but also by character.

The morning was further enlivened by special presentations from Batch Sinaglahi and interactive segments that allowed the Chief to share personal stories, reflections, and words of encouragement.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Batch President Eunice Angeline Lopez, who expressed the batch’s gratitude for the Chief’s generosity, warmth, and inspiring message.

As the gathering came to a close, one message remained with the interns:

“Try to be the best human being that you can be.”

Indeed, Kape at Kwentuhan with the Chief was a meaningful reminder that integrity, excellence, and humanity must always go hand in hand in the practice of law and in service to the nation.

The OSG Legal Internship Team Building Activity was successfully held on June 4–5, 2026, at Shercon Resort and Ecology Park, bringing together 60 legal interns for two days of teamwork, learning, and camaraderie.

The Office of the Solicitor General successfully held the OSG Legal Internship Program 2026 Orientation on June 1, 2026, officially marking the commencement of the internship journey of 60 law students from law schools across the Philippines.

The orientation introduced the interns to the OSG's mandate as they begin their immersion in public service and government law practice.

We warmly welcome our 2026 interns and look forward to their meaningful contributions and professional growth throughout the program!

The OSG-LIP Committee visited the University of Southeastern Philippines to introduce the Office of the Solicitor General's Legal Internship Program. We extend our sincere thanks to Dean Jamil Adrian Khalil Matalam, LLM, Asst. Dean Marian Castillo-Pasia, Former Dean Arlene Lorejo-Cosape, and Atty. Maria Zola Estela Geyrozaga for the warm welcome and support.

We would also like to thank Atty. Zeinn Karleen Poncardas (Former Intern, 2022) for sharing her experiences with the students.

The Office of the Solicitor General conducted a roadshow in Jose Maria College in Davao City to introduce the Legal Internship Program. Our sincere thanks to Dean Israelito Torreon, Asst. Dean Atty.
