The SIBTECH ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 8th Training Day on 22 August 2026 under the supervision of COL Norberto L. Agbay ARM GSC PA (RES), ROTC Commandant, with the guidance and support of Sir Glenn Bryan S. Torres , NSTP Coordinator, SGT Kyla Marie Jacob PA (RES), and SGT Kenneth Pineda PA (RES). The activity was also supported by the CDC personnel, together with the Maritime ROTC Unit.

The training commenced with a lecture conducted by LTC Ulysses S Mendoza (MI) PA on R***e Marksmanship, focusing on the Fundamentals of R***e Marksmanship and Common R***e Malfunctions. The discussion emphasized proper r***e handling, safety procedures, correct marksmanship fundamentals, and the appropriate response to common r***e malfunctions.

At 1600H, the cadets conducted Pasamasid under the supervision of the designated training staff. The activity further developed the cadets’ alertness, discipline, coordination, and responsiveness to commands.

The 8th Training Day concluded successfully with the active participation of the Basic Cadets, ROTC Aspirants, unit officers, CDC personnel, training staff, and Maritime Unit. The activity was conducted in a safe, organized, and disciplined manner, with no untoward incidents reported.

The 7th Training Day of the SIBTECH ROTC Unit was conducted at the open ground of the Southwestern Institute of Business and Technology, Inc. The activity commenced at 1400H with the COQC Opening Ceremony, led by COL Norberto Agbay ARM GSC PA (RES). The ceremony formally marked the beginning of the day's activities and emphasized the importance of discipline, leadership, service, and commitment among the cadets. The activity was attended and supported by Sir Glenn Bryan S Torres, SGT Kyla Marie Jacob PA (RES), and SGT Kenneth Pineda PA (RES).

The ceremony was also graced by special guests from the 1st “Exemplars” Company, 2CMO Battalion PA and the 2nd Civil-Military Operations Battalion, CMOR, PA namely 1LT Vina M del Campo (FS) PA and 2LT Cherry Mae M Salintao (CMO) PA.

During the opening ceremony, Ma’am Vina delivered an inspiring message centered on the word “SERVICE,” highlighting the importance of serving others with dedication and purpose. She explained the values represented by each letter:

S – SERVICE – Willingness to serve others and contribute to the community.

E – EXCELLENT– Striving for excellence in every task and responsibility.

R – RESPECT – Showing respect to superiors, fellow cadets, and everyone around us.

V – VERSATILITY– Being adaptable and capable of responding effectively to different situations.

I – INTELLIGENCE– Using knowledge, wisdom, and sound judgment in making decisions.

C – COMMITMENT– Remaining dedicated to one's duties, responsibilities, and mission.

E – EMPATHY– Understanding and considering the feelings and needs of others.

After the COQC Opening Ceremony, the activity proceeded to the COQC Reception, which officially started at 1600H. The reception formally marked the continuation of the day's COQC activities and provided an opportunity for the cadets and participants to welcome and acknowledge the distinguished guests and personnel present during the event.

The COQC Reception promoted camaraderie, professionalism, respect, and unity among the cadets, training personnel, and distinguished guests. It also provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships and foster cooperation among the participants, particularly with the representatives of the Civil-Military Operations units.

The reception further emphasized that effective military training is not only about discipline and the development of military skills, but also about teamwork, mutual respect, communication, cooperation, and a strong commitment to service. Through this activity, the cadets were reminded of the importance of building positive relationships and maintaining professionalism while carrying out their duties and responsibilities.

The 6th Training Day of the SIBTECH ROTC Unit was conducted at the Southwestern Institute of Business and Technology, Inc. The activity commenced with a Battalion Formation, where all cadets assembled for attendance, inspection, and the opening of the day's training. The formation reinforced discipline, unity, and military bearing among the cadets.

Following the formation, the cadets conducted and practiced Pasamasid, focusing on proper military posture, alertness, and responsiveness to commands. This exercise helped improve discipline and precision in executing military movements.

The training continued with Manual of Arms and Facing Movements, supervised by SGT Kyla Marie Jacob PA (RES) and SGT Kenneth Pineda PA (RES). The cadets were guided through the proper handling of r***es and the correct ex*****on of facing commands, enhancing their coordination, confidence, and military skills.

The training concluded with a Parade in Review, where the cadets demonstrated the lessons and drills they had practiced throughout the day. The activity showcased their discipline, teamwork, and readiness as members of the ROTC program before the official dismissal.

The SIBTECH ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 5th Training Day under the supervision of COL Norberto Agbay ARM GSC PA (RES), ROTC Commandant.

The training commenced with a lecture conducted by COL Ulysses S Mendoza (MI) PA on the U.S. R***e 5.56 mm, M16A1. The discussion covered the history of the M16A1 r***e, safety precautions, general characteristics, the eight (8) cycles of operation, and the proper assembly and disassembly of the M16A1 r***e. The lecture emphasized the importance of proper weapon handling, safety, and familiarization with the standard service r***e as part of the cadets' military training.

After the weapons instruction, COL Norberto Agbay ARM GSC PA (RES) conducted a review of the previous lessons followed by the Preliminary Examination to evaluate the cadets' knowledge and understanding. A total of sixteen (16) ROTC Aspirants successfully passed the preliminary examination and qualified to continue as members of the Corps of Qualified Cadets (COQC).

The activity was also observed by Sir Glenn Bryan S Torres, NSTP Coordinator, who continuously supports the implementation of the ROTC training program.

The 5th Training Day concluded successfully with the active participation of the Basic Cadets, ROTC Aspirants, unit officers, and training staff. The activity was conducted in a safe, organized, and disciplined manner, with no untoward incidents reported.

PROJECT KTB (Kabataang Tagapagtanggol ng Bayan) SEMINAR
DATE: 12 JULY 2026

The SIBTECH ROTC Unit participated in the PROJECT KTB (Kabataang Tagapagtanggol ng Bayan) Seminar held at the ABC Hall, Municipal Hall of Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro. The activity was organized by the Office of the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation of Pinamalayan in partnership with the 74th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army. The seminar aimed to strengthen leadership, discipline, civic awareness, and patriotism among the youth.

The SIBTECH delegation was headed by Sir Glenn Bryan S Torres, NSTP Coordinator. Accompanying the delegation were C/MAJ Lanot, Thyrone Jude D, 1CL and C/MAJ Austria, John Kean D, 1CL, together with eight (8) ROTC Aspirants, who actively represented the unit throughout the activity.

During the seminar, the participants attended various discussions and leadership-oriented sessions that emphasized the importance of discipline, volunteerism, responsible citizenship, community involvement, and the vital role of the youth in nation-building. The activity also encouraged the cadets and aspirants to strengthen their commitment to serving their communities and becoming responsible future leaders.

The seminar concluded successfully with the active participation of all SIBTECH ROTC representatives. The activity was conducted in an orderly, safe, and disciplined manner, providing the participants with valuable knowledge, leadership insights, and a deeper sense of patriotism and public service.

The SIBTECH ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 4th Training Day under the supervision of COL Norberto Agbay ARM GSC PA (RES), ROTC Commandant. During the classroom instruction, the Commandant discussed the 11 General Orders of a Sentinel, Military Courtesy, Salute, Entitled Salute, and the General Rules for Saluting, emphasizing the importance of discipline, respect, and professionalism expected of every cadet in military service.

The lecture also covered the Honors to the Colors and the National Anthem, the proper Display of the Philippine Flag, Addressing Officers, and the different Forms of Courtesy observed in the military. In addition, the cadets were taught Facing and Command of Ex*****on, as well as the basic ex*****on of the r***e, where they were introduced to the proper handling, position, and ex*****on of basic r***e movements in accordance with standard military procedures.

Following the classroom instruction, the Basic Cadets and ROTC Aspirants proceeded to the open ground for practical exercises under the supervision of the unit officers. The cadets practiced Facing and Command of Ex*****on together with the basic r***e ex*****on, enabling them to apply the concepts discussed during the lecture while improving their coordination, discipline, confidence, and command responsiveness.

The activity concluded successfully with the active participation of the Basic Cadets, ROTC Aspirants, and unit officers. The training was conducted in a safe, organized, and disciplined manner, with no untoward incidents reported.

Congratulations to the SIBTECH ROTC Cadet Officers Who Successfully Completed RSCT and Graduated from ARAPT MS 31-32

The SIBTECH ROTC Unit proudly extends its warmest congratulations to the twelve (12) outstanding Cadet Officers who successfully completed the ROTC Summer Camp Training (RSCT) from May 3 to May 17, 2026, and graduated from the Annual Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) ADVANCE ROTC ACADEMIC PHASE TRAINING (ARAPT) Military Science 31-32, conducted from May 29 to June 11, 2026, under Class 01-2026, Batch "KASIDLAKAS."

Held at the 17th Regional Community Defense Group (17th RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, in Brgy. San Juan, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro, the training challenged the cadet officers through intensive military instruction, leadership enhancement, tactical exercises, physical conditioning, and academic development. Their determination and commitment enabled them to overcome every challenge with discipline and professionalism.

Successfully completing both RSCT and ARAPT marks an important milestone in their military journey. Their achievement reflects not only their perseverance and resilience but also their readiness to take on greater responsibilities as future reserve officers committed to serving the nation with honor and integrity.

This accomplishment is a proud moment for the SIBTECH ROTC Unit and the Southwestern Institute of Business and Technology, Inc. It stands as proof of the dedication and excellence of our cadet officers and serves as an inspiration to all ROTC aspirants who strive to become capable and responsible leaders.
