On May 15, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) MIMAROPA participated as a resource organization during the Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperatives' (PFCCO) Education Forum, held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
DTI Palawan Provincial Director Hazel Salvador facilitated a discussion on the initiatives of the agency in supporting the growth of cooperatives through technology and digital transformation. See less

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 | the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 (𝐃𝐓𝐈) 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧 through 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐨 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫–𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐳𝐨𝐧, in partnership with the 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐳𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧, successfully conducted a 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬/𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 on 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at the Legislative Building in Barangay Alfonso XIII, Quezon, Palawan. The activity was attended by eight ( 8 ) Processed Fruits and Nuts (PFN) processors and thirteen (13) food manufacturers, with a total of twenty-one (21) participants.
The activity helps participants gained valuable knowledge on mandatory food labeling and appropriate packaging materials suitable for their products and increase awareness of the importance of proper packaging and labeling in producing market-ready and competitive MSME products.

On 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 – 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧, in partnership with 𝐒𝐌 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐈𝐧𝐜. through 𝐒𝐌 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐚, successfully conducted the 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 for 66 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from across Puerto Princesa City.
The workshop provided participating MSMEs with practical strategies and tools to help their businesses continue operating during and after emergencies, reducing potential disruptions and business losses.
Through partnerships like this, DTI remains committed to building stronger, more resilient businesses in Palawan.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7581, or the Price Act, as amended by Republic Act No. 10623, the monitoring of prices of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) is undertaken by the appropriate government agencies, depending on the nature of the products. This ensures proper price monitoring and helps protect consumers against unreasonable price increases.

Bilang mamimili, mayroon kang karapatang malaman ang tamang presyo ng bawat produktong iyong binibili.
Mahalaga ang SRP o Suggested Retail Price, na siyang presyong itinakda ng mga manufacturers. Ito ay sinusuri ng Department of Trade and Industry upang matiyak kung makatarungan at patas ito para sa mga konsyumer.
Kaya naman konsyumers, ugaliing i-check ang price list na inilalabas ng DTI at huwag hayaang pagsamantalahan ka. Know your rights!
