𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇.

On the 2nd Day of the Scholars Leadership Camp, MIMAROPA scholars deepened their understanding of Social Responsibility as they recognize the vital role they play not only as future professionals, but also as catalysts of positive change in their communities.

Through meaningful discussions, collaborative activities, and inspiring insights from guest speakers, scholars were encouraged to lead with empathy, integrity, and a strong sense of purpose.

The camp is led by the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) in collaboration with DOST – MIMAROPA.

We are proud to welcome you to the growing family of DOST Scholars in MIMAROPA, as you begin your journey in contributing to science, technology, and innovation for the service of the Filipino people.

As DOST scholars, you will receive the following support:
✅ Php 8,000 monthly stipend
✅ Php 40,000/year tuition support (for private institutions)
✅ Php 10,000/year learning materials or connectivity support
✅ Php 1,000 clothing allowance (one-time)
✅ Php 10,000 thesis allowance
✅ Php 1,000 graduation allowance
✅ One round-trip economy-class fare per year (for out-of-province studies)
✅ Group health and accident insurance

📌 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬:
• Qualifiers with an asterisk (*) beside their name are subject to revalidation of information/documents. Some names have also been temporarily withheld pending submission of required documentation. Concerned applicants will receive further instructions from DOST-MIMAROPA.
• All successful qualifiers will receive a 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 via their registered email with details on the required orientation and signing of the Scholarship Agreement.

𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗬 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗬 (𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧) 𝗠𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗔

Nagsagawa ng isang makabuluhang courtesy meeting si Palawan 1st District Representative Rosalie “Mommy Rose” Salvame kasama ang mga kinatawan mula sa Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – MIMAROPA na pinangunahan ni Ginoong Bernardo N. Sepeda, Regional Director ng DOST-MIMAROPA, kasama si Patricia Symoney M. Galang – Science Research Specialist II.

Sa isinagawang pagpupulong, tinalakay ng mga opisyal ang iba’t ibang programa at inisyatiba ng DOST na maaaring maisama sa mga strategic plans para sa patuloy na pagpapaunlad ng mga komunidad sa Unang Distrito ng Palawan. Napag-usapan din ang mahahalagang highlights ng mga pangunahing programs, projects, at activities ng ahensya na nakatuon sa pagpapalakas ng agham, teknolohiya, at inobasyon bilang suporta sa kaunlaran ng lalawigan.

Binigyang-diin sa pulong ang kahalagahan ng mas pinaigting na koordinasyon sa pagitan ng tanggapan ni Cong Salvame at ng DOST upang mas mapalawak ang implementasyon ng mga programang makatutulong sa kabuhayan, edukasyon, disaster resilience, livelihood development, at technological advancement ng mga mamamayan sa iba’t ibang bayan ng Unang Distrito ng Palawan.

Nagpahayag naman ng pasasalamat si Cong Salvame sa DOST-MIMAROPA at tiniyak ang kanyang suporta sa mga programang naglalayong makapaghatid ng makabagong serbisyo at oportunidad sa kanyang mga ka-Distrito. Ayon sa kanya, mahalaga ang papel ng siyensya at teknolohiya sa pagsusulong ng inclusive development at sa pagbibigay ng mas maraming oportunidad para sa mamamayan ng Palawan.

Ang naturang courtesy meeting ay bahagi ng patuloy na pakikipag-ugnayan ng tanggapan ni Cong Salvame sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan upang higit na mapalakas ang mga programang makikinabang ang mga residente ng Unang Distrito ng Palawan.

UBE IS THE NEW MATCHA???🤩
Mahigit 200 klase ng ube—mula dark purple hanggang white at rainbow-colored varieties—ang inaalagaan sa germplasm collection ng Philippine Root Crops Research and Training Center, kung saan pinag-aaralan din kung paano naaapektuhan ng soil nutrients ang kalidad at natural na kulay ng ube.
Sa suporta ng DOST-PCAARRD, layunin ng pag-aaral ng team ni Prof. Marlon M. Tambis na mapataas ang produksyon ng quality dark purple ube sa Bohol gamit ang improved planting materials, S&T-based farming practices, at year-round planting strategies upang mas mapalakas ang industriya at kita ng mga magsasaka.
