Itinalaga ang 𝗥𝗔 𝟵𝟮𝟴𝟴, o 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟰, upang magtatag ng isang komprehensibong pambansang sistema para ma-screen ang bawat bagong silang na sanggol sa Pilipinas ng mga genetic o metabolic na kondisyong bago pa ito magpapakita ng mga sintomas. Layunin nito na mabigyan ng agarang pansin ang mga natukoy na karamdaman bago pa man ito humantong sa mental retardation, kapansanan, o pagkamatay.

𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘄𝗮❓ 🤔
☝🤓 Ang newborn screening ay dapat agarang gawin pagkatapos ng unang 𝟮𝟰-𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘀 sa pagkakapanganak ni baby. Upang magawa ito, ang health professional ay kukuha ng ilang patak ng dugo mula sa talampakan ni baby, na nilalagay sa filter card at pinapadala sa Newborn Screening Center.

Maaari itong gawin nang libre sa mga health center ng barangay. Kasama din ang newborn screening sa Newborn Care Package ng PhilHealth.

Ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Antipolo ay nakikiisa sa paggunita ng National Newborn Screening Week sa bisa ng Proclamation No. 540, s. 2004. 👶🍼💙

Layunin ng linggong ito na paigtingin ang kaalaman tungkol sa kahalagahan ng newborn screening upang maagapan ang mga sakit na maaaring makaapekto sa paglaki at pag-unlad ng mga sanggol. Sa maagang pagsusuri, naliligtas ang buhay at kinabukasan ng ating mga munting biyaya. 👩‍👩‍👦
