QCPD Conducts Nearly 10,000 Establishment Visitations to Enhance Safety Across Quezon City

QUEZON CITY, August 3, 2026 — Demonstrating its commitment to crime prevention and public safety, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), under the leadership of PBGEN RANDY GLENN SILVIO, District Director, conducted a total of 9,875 establishment visitations across Quezon City from July 25 to 31, 2026.

The visitations formed part of QCPD’s Target Hardening strategy, which aims to enhance police visibility, deter criminal activities, and ensure the immediate response and apprehension of individuals involved in alarm incidents and other crimes.

Among the police stations, Kamuning Police Station (PS 10) recorded the highest number of establishment visitations with 2,266, followed by Eastwood Police Station (PS 12) with 1,176, and Cubao Police Station (PS 7) with 750.

During the visits, police officers engaged with business owners, managers, and employees, reminding them to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or emergencies through the National Emergency Hotline 911or the QC Helpline 122.

PBGEN SILVIO emphasized that regular establishment visitations play a vital role in strengthening police visibility and fostering stronger partnerships with the business community.

"Through the Enhanced Managing Police Operations of our Chief, PNP and the Allied Program of the Regional Director, NCRPO, our establishment visitations not only help safeguard businesses but also strengthen trust and cooperation between the police and the community," PBGEN SILVIO said. # # #

Gunfire Report Leads to Arrest, Seizure of Undocumented .45 Pistol in Taguig City

A report of alleged indiscriminate firing in Taguig City early Monday resulted in the swift arrest of a 26‑year‑old male and the confiscation of an undocumented caliber .45 pistol.

Police responded to the incident along Mastrili Street, Dulong Bayan, Barangay Bambang, where investigators recovered one fired cartridge case. Through witness accounts and CCTV forward tracking, authorities identified and located the suspect—a Private First Class of the Philippine Army—who was apprehended at around 4:15AM on August 3, 2026.

Recovered from his possession were an M1911A1 caliber .45 pistol and five live rounds of ammunition. The suspect failed to present any license, firearm registration, or documentation authorizing possession of the firearm.

The seized weapon will undergo ballistic and cross‑matching examination, while investigators conduct verification to determine whether the suspect holds a License to Own and Possess Fi****ms, firearm registration, or a Permit to Carry Fi****ms Outside Residence.

Charges for Alarms and Scandal (Article 155, Revised Penal Code), Illegal Discharge of Firearm (Article 254, Revised Penal Code), and violations of Republic Act 10591 are being prepared for inquest proceedings before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.

NCRPO Regional Director PMGEN Anthony A Aberin underscored that the prompt identification and arrest of the suspect reflect NCRPO’s commitment to decisive action against unlawful firearm possession and misuse.

“Any unlawful discharge of a firearm puts lives at risk and will never be taken lightly. We will continue to respond swiftly, pursue every lead, and ensure that individuals who unlawfully possess and misuse fi****ms are held fully accountable under the law,” PMGEN Aberin said. # # #

NCRPO MANHUNT OPERATIONS YIELD NO. 2 REGIONAL MOST WANTED PERSON IN MANILA

Demonstrating relentless pursuit of justice and uncompromising law enforcement operations, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) successfully apprehended the region’s No. 2 Most Wanted Person during a strategic warrant operation in Sampaloc, Manila, on August 1, 2026.

The 23-year-old murder suspect was cornered and arrested by combined operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) Police Station 11, acting on active intelligence tracking. The accused is the subject of a warrant of arrest for Murder under Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code, docketed under a warrant issued on July 21, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court Branch 263 in Marikina City. The court has recommended no bail for the provisional liberty of the accused.

Following the successful ex*****on of the arrest warrant, the suspect was securely booked and transferred to the MPD Police Station 11 custodial facility for mandatory documentation and medical clearance, ahead of the formal return of the warrant to the issuing court for judicial disposition.

Highlighting the unwavering resolve of the command, PMGEN Anthony A Aberin, Regional Director, NCRPO, issued a stern warning to fugitives evading the law:

23 CHILDREN SAVED, 6 FALL IN PNP’S NATIONWIDE ANTI-ONLINE CHILD EXPLOITATION DRIVE

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., rescued 23 children and arrested six suspects in a series of nationwide operations against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) conducted from July 14 to 25, 2026, underscoring the organization’s sustained campaign to protect children from online exploitation and hold offenders accountable.

The operations, led by the Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC), were carried out in Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Cebu, Negros Occidental, Davao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental. They resulted in the rescue of 23 child victims and children at risk, the arrest of six suspects, and the seizure of mobile phones, computers, storage devices, and other digital evidence expected to strengthen the investigation and prosecution of individuals involved in the production and distribution of OSAEC and CSAEM.

The successful operations stemmed from domestic and international intelligence referrals and were conducted through joint operations with local police units, the Department of Justice, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center (PICACC), barangay officials, foreign law enforcement partners, and child protection organizations. Among those rescued were infants, toddlers, and minors who were allegedly exploited by persons entrusted with their care, including parents and close relatives who reportedly facilitated the production and distribution of child sexual abuse materials in exchange for money from foreign offenders.

Authorities are pursuing criminal charges under Republic Act No. 11930 and other applicable laws against the arrested suspects. In one operation, charges for Qualified Trafficking in Persons under Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, will likewise be filed. All rescued children were immediately turned over to the appropriate social welfare agencies for medical assessment, psychosocial intervention, protective custody, and long-term recovery services.

The accomplishment reflects the PNP’s Focused Agenda, a strategic direction for organizational transformation that strengthens police service through intelligence-driven and responsive law enforcement. At the heart of this effort is the key priority of Enhanced Managing Police Operations, reinforcing the PNP’s capability to prevent crimes and protect the country’s most vulnerable sectors.

“The rescue of these children demonstrates our unwavering resolve to protect every Filipino child from exploitation and abuse. We will relentlessly pursue those who prey on the innocent and ensure that every offender is brought before the courts to answer for these crimes,” said PGen Nartatez.

“Hindi kami titigil hangga’t may batang nalalagay sa panganib. Ang bawat batang naililigtas ay isang buhay na nabibigyan ng panibagong pag-asa at mas ligtas na kinabukasan,” he added.

As the PNP intensifies its fight against online child sexual exploitation and other crimes that threaten the welfare of Filipino children under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Ito ay ginanap sa Meetings, Incentives, Conference & Exhibitions (MICE) Hall, Quezon City Hall Compound, Barangay Central, Quezon City, noong Hulyo 30, 2026, ganap na alas-9:00 ng umaga.

Nakibahagi sina Vice Mayor Gian Sotto kasama ang mga Quezon City Department Heads, mga kinatawan ng mga barangay, at mga civil society organization. Naging bahagi din ng programa ang paggawad ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Quezon ang QC SAFE (Stops All Forms of Exploitation) Seal sa walong establisyimentong kinilala sa kanilang mahigpit na pagsunod sa mga pamantayan at inisyatiba ng lungsod laban sa human trafficking at iba pang anyo ng pagsasamantala.
