How can research contribute to the common good and help create a better media environment for Filipino children?

The 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐍𝐂𝐂𝐓), in partnership with the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE), invites researchers, educators, students, media practitioners, professionals, and other qualified contributors to submit completed research for the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 with the theme:
“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒕𝒔 𝑹𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈.”

The Forum seeks to bring research into dialogue with policy and practice. We invite studies that not only deepen our understanding of children and media, but also offer evidence that can help inform policies, programs, education, industry practices, and future research for the benefit of Filipino children and society.

Research may be submitted under the following sub-themes:

WATCH | As the media landscape continues to evolve, the need for unified and child-friendly content grows.

True to its child-friendly mandate, the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT), in partnership with the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), conducted the 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 (𝐃𝐂𝐂) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 to strengthen the awareness and understanding of Broadcast Television Networks (BTNs) regarding Republic Act (RA) No. 8370, the Child-Friendly Content Standards (CFCS), and the NCCT Media Monitoring Scorecard, encouraging the production and broadcast of television content that is more responsive to the needs, rights, development, and best interests of children.
