PNP TRACKS DOWN 7 MOST WANTED PERSONS IN ONE-DAY WARRANT OPERATIONS

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units across the country arrested seven wanted persons in separate operations on September 17, 2026, including individuals listed among the Top 10 and regional wanted persons.

In Cebu City, a No.10 wanted person was arrested by the CIDG Cebu Provincial Field Unit in coordination with the Cebu City Police Office. The accused was wanted in connection with four counts of Acts of Lasciviousness in relation to Section 5(b) of Republic Act No. 7610, with bail recommended at ₱720,000.00. The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court in Argao, Cebu, and the arrested person was subsequently escorted to the proper court for the application for bail.

In Duero, Bohol, police arrested a regional Most Wanted Person. The accused was wanted for four counts of Statutory R**e under a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Loay, Bohol, with no bail recommended. The arrested person was placed under the temporary custody of the Duero Municipal Police Station.

In Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat, a No. 9 wanted person, alias “Prince,” was arrested at around 1:00 PM by the CIDG Sultan Kudarat Provincial Field Unit, with support from local police and other concerned units. The accused was wanted in connection with two counts of R**e under a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

In San Mateo, Rizal, a regional Most Wanted Person was arrested by personnel of the San Mateo Municipal Police Station. The accused was wanted in connection with three counts of Qualified Statutory R**e and a separate R**e case, under a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in San Mateo, Rizal, with no bail recommended.

In Quezon City, another regional Most Wanted Person was arrested along Luzon Avenue, Barangay San Isidro, by the Warrant and Subpoena Section of Dasmariñas Component City Police Station in coordination with a Quezon City police station. The accused was wanted for R**e under a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Dasmariñas City, with no bail recommended.

In Cebu City, police also arrested a No. 10 wanted person in Barangay San Roque. The accused was apprehended by personnel of Police Station 3, Cebu City Police Office, by virtue of a warrant in connection with violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, in Balayan, Batangas, a regional Most Wanted Person was arrested in Barangay Patugo by joint personnel of the Balayan Municipal Police Station and the 2nd Batangas Provincial Mobile Force Company. The accused was wanted for violation of Section 12, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 and was arrested for service of sentence pursuant to a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Balayan, Batangas.

PGen Nartatez said the series of arrests reflects the importance of sustained coordination in locating persons with standing warrants and ensuring that they are brought before the proper authorities.

“Serving a warrant is more than locating a person. It means making sure the court’s order is carried out properly and that the person is brought to the next stage of the legal process. We will keep doing this through careful coordination and good police work. Simple lang ang objective—serve the warrant, respect the rights of the person, and let the courts do their part,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operations form part of the PNP Focused Agenda through Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which strengthens information-based police action, coordination among units, and timely implementation of lawful police operations. These efforts also contribute to the peace and order priorities of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. by ensuring that persons with standing court warrants are properly located and brought before the appropriate authorities.

The PNP reiterates that the arrested persons are entitled to due process and that the allegations against them remain subject to judicial proceedings. PNP, PCG ENSURE SAFE EVACUATION OF 163 ABOARD RORO VESSEL AFTER RUNNING AGROUND IN OCCIDENTAL MINDORO

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police maritime personnel and partner agencies promptly responded to assist passengers and crew after a roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel ran aground off the waters of Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro early Thursday, September 17, 2026.

The incident was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. on September 17 involving MV RoRo Master 5, which was carrying 114 passengers and 49 crew members, including the vessel’s captain, while sailing toward Matabang Port.

Personnel of the PNP Maritime Group, particularly the Maritime Law Enforcement Team of Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro, immediately coordinated with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to assist in the safe evacuation of those aboard the vessel.

The passengers were successfully brought ashore in Barangay Udalo and subsequently transported to the Passenger Terminal Building of Matabang Port with assistance from the Municipal and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices. All evacuated passengers were reported to be in stable condition.

“Our priority was clear from the moment we received the report—get the passengers to safety and make sure the response is coordinated. Kapag may ganitong sitwasyon, mabilis na pagkilos at maayos na coordination ang mahalaga. Our personnel did their part, together with our partner agencies, to help bring everyone safely to shore,” PGen Nartatez said.

The PNP said the incident highlights the importance of maintaining responsive maritime personnel who can act quickly and work alongside other government agencies during emergencies. The appropriate authorities are continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and will take necessary action based on the findings.

The response is consistent with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which emphasizes timely action, coordination, and effective use of available resources in protecting the public. 1,675 FI****MS ACCOUNTED FOR IN WESTERN VISAYAS AS PNP SUSTAINS PREVENTIVE DRIVE

Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units in Western Visayas have accounted for 1,675 fi****ms from September 1 to 15, 2026, as the PNP continues to strengthen preventive measures against the risks posed by undocumented and illegally held fi****ms.
The figure includes 1,641 fi****ms voluntarily surrendered or turned over, 15 confiscated, and 19 deposited for safekeeping. On September 15 alone, police accounted for 251 fi****ms, consisting of one confiscated and 250 surrendered fi****ms. One explosive was likewise surrendered during the period.
Rather than relying solely on enforcement after an incident occurs, the PNP is sustaining efforts that encourage the early turnover of undocumented fi****ms and strengthen police presence at the community level. In Western Visayas, this approach is reinforced through Project R. 3389—Restrict, Track, and Turn-in, covering all 3,389 barangays in the region.
The initiative supports the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) by combining timely police action, information gathering, coordination, and community participation. It also complements the peace and public-safety priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., particularly in preventing circumstances that may place communities at risk.
“For us, the real measure is not only how many fi****ms we account for. It is how many opportunities for harm we are able to prevent. Kapag may fi***rm na kusang naibabalik at naipapasa sa tamang proseso, isang potential risk na ang nababawasan sa komunidad,” PGen Nartatez said.

₱4.4-MILLION ACCOUNT DISCREPANCY LEADS TO BANK TELLER’S ARREST IN PASIG
The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., through the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), arrested a 34-year-old senior bank teller in Pasig City over an alleged unauthorized withdrawal involving a depositor’s account.
The case surfaced on September 14, 2026, after the depositor discovered that his expected ₱5,000,000.00 balance had dropped to ₱600,161.26, revealing a discrepancy of ₱4,399,838.74. The discovery followed his verification of a ₱46,000 interest payment that was not reflected in the account.
A bank inquiry subsequently led to the suspect’s alleged admission that she took the funds and falsified the depositor’s specimen signature to facilitate unauthorized withdrawals. She was brought to the Rosario Police Sub-Station, arrested, and later transferred to the Pasig City Police Station for documentation and filing of the appropriate complaint before undergoing physical examination at Rizal Medical Center.
PGEN Nartatez emphasized the PNP’s resolve to act on unlawful acts and uphold accountability. “Every complaint deserves proper investigation, and those who violate the law must be held accountable through due process.”

LOOK: Chief, Philippine National Police PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. gave updates on the ongoing BARMM parliamentary elections during an interview with the PNP Press Corps on September 16, 2026, at Camp Crame, Quezon City. He said the elections remain generally peaceful, with more than 10,000 PNP personnel deployed and security resources effectively utilized in coordination with COMELEC and other security forces.
PGen Nartatez also highlighted the oath-taking of 938 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen for the National Support Units (NSUs) held today, September 16, 2026, at the PNP Transformational Oval, Camp Crame. Across the Police Regional Offices, 5,811 recruits are also taking their oath, bringing the CY 2026 Regular and Attrition Recruitment Program’s total number of new recruits to 6,749.
