The CDA, through the Policy Development and Research Division (PDRD), is conducting the Policy Research Month Training-Workshop on Evidence-Based Policy Review and Formulation on 2-3 September 2026 at Madison 101 Hotel + Tower, Quezon City.

We are honored to have Dr. Hilda San Gabriel, Professor of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, as the Resource Person for this training-workshop, sharing her expertise and insights on evidence-based policymaking and policy development.

In celebration of Policy Research Month, the two-day training-workshop brings together CDA Head Office personnel to strengthen their knowledge and skills in evidence-based policy review and formulation. Through policy research, we strengthen cooperatives, empower communities, and build a future where development is inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered.

Because sound policies begin with sound research.

CDA Empowers Workforce with Power BI Training to Advance Data-Driven Governance

QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES — The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) took another step toward strengthening data-driven governance by enhancing the data analytics and visualization capabilities of its workforce through a five-day training on Microsoft Power BI held from August 3 to 7, 2026.

Organized by the CDA’s Information and Communication Technology Division (ICTD) in partnership with the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI), the training carried the theme, “Interactive Dashboards: Transforming Data into Dynamic Insights Using MS Power BI.”

CDA REGION II LAUNCHES THE FIRST CREDIT SURETY FUND PREMIER SERIES FEATURING THE SUCCESS STORY OF NUEVA VIZCAYA CSF COOPERATIVE

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region II Extension Office successfully conducted the First Credit Surety Fund (CSF) Premier Series on July 29, 2026, via a hybrid setup and Zoom Video Conferencing, in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya featuring the journey and accomplishments of the Nueva Vizcaya Credit Surety Fund Cooperative (NVCSFC) as one of the successful CSF Cooperatives in the country. The activity brought together eight representatives from the NVCSFC Board of Directors, ninety-eight (98) viewers from various CDA Extension Offices and cooperatives through Zoom, and five (5) personnel from the CDA Region II Extension Office.

Celebrating Partnerships, Recognizing Contributions, Strengthening the Cooperative Movement

Despite the pouring rains, the celebration of the 7th Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Charter Day was successfully held on August 6, 2026, at Seda Vertis North. The occasion served as an opportunity for the CDA to recognize and express its appreciation to the partners who have contributed to the continued development and growth of the cooperative sector. The Recognition Day brought together cooperatives, local government units, national government agencies, private organizations, and other institutions whose collaboration and support have helped advance the CDA’s programs and initiatives for cooperatives. More than a celebration, the event highlighted the value of sustained partnerships and collective efforts in strengthening the cooperative movement.

Republic Act No. 11364, or the Cooperative Development Authority Charter of 2019, was signed into law on August 8, 2019, replacing RA No. 6939 and strengthening the mandate and organizational structure of the CDA. The law expanded the CDA’s developmental, regulatory, and quasi-judicial powers and established it as the lead government agency responsible for promoting the viability and growth of cooperatives as instruments of equity, social justice, and economic development. Through RA No. 11364, the CDA was further positioned to work in partnership with the cooperative sector, government agencies, local government units, and other stakeholders in advancing a stronger, more responsive, and sustainable cooperative movement.
