The 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐎), through its 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐒), held a 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 in partnership with the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐋𝐎), alongside a session on 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 facilitated by the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐌𝐎). The training took place on 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐨𝐝 (𝐒𝐏) 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 and was attended by CENRO personnel.

The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of environmental law enforcement personnel by providing a deeper understanding of the legal and administrative processes involved in case management. It also sought to strengthen their ability to perform enforcement duties with integrity, fairness, transparency, and accountability while fostering excellence in public service through improved client and customer relations.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | The 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐎), in collaboration with the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐎) and the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐇𝐎), successfully conducted a 𝟑-𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐒𝐅𝐀𝐓) on 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟐–𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, @ 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤, 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐨,𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐨-𝐀, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭, 𝐈𝐆𝐚𝐂𝐨𝐒.

The training equipped participants with essential first aid knowledge and practical skills to effectively respond to simple medical and other related emergencies. Through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on assessments, participants enhanced their preparedness and competency as first responders.

This initiative reflects CENRO's proactive and continued commitment in promoting safety, healthy workplace, and public service excellence.

As part of the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 with the theme, “𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆. 𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆. 𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆,” the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) conducted a two-day 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 on June 29–30, 2026. The first day gathered 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 (𝐋𝐆𝐔) employees and members of the 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐑𝐀), led by 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐲 𝐔𝐲, while the second day was attended by all 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐬 and their respective 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 members.

The orientation strengthened participants’ knowledge of proper solid waste management, waste segregation, environmental laws and ordinances, resource conservation, and other sustainable practices applicable in their workplaces and communities. It also reinforced the capacity of barangay officials to promote and implement sound environmental programs, reflecting CENRO’s continued commitment to environmental protection through collaboration, responsible waste management, and sustainable development toward a cleaner, greener, and more resilient community.

The City Environment and Natural Resources Office of the Island Garden City of Samal proudly highlights its major accomplishments for January to June 2026, reflecting its unwavering commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development, and ecological governance.

Throughout the first half of the year, the office successfully carried out various initiatives focused on waste reduction and resource recovery, ecosystem restoration, coastal and biodiversity protection, environmental education, sanitation services, regulatory enforcement, and community engagement.

These accomplishments were made possible through the collective efforts of partner agencies, stakeholders, communities, and volunteers, reinforcing the City's vision of building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Island Garden City of Samal for present and future generations.

On June 29, 2026, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), in partnership with the Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability (IDIS), successfully conducted the 2nd BANWA Awards at the Roof Deck, City Hall, Sitio Maag, Peñaplata, Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS). The event recognized individuals, organizations, and community groups for their exemplary contributions and steadfast commitment to advancing the principles of the circular economy and environmental sustainability within the city.

♻️🇪🇺🇵🇭 Advancing circular economy solutions through local partnerships.

The EU-Philippines Green Economy Partnership signed award letters with Iligan City, the Island Garden City of Samal, and Zamboanga City to support the development of inclusive circular economy public-private partnerships (PPPs).

Through technical assistance and feasibility studies, these pilot projects will help address local environmental and infrastructure challenges, promote resource efficiency, and create opportunities for more inclusive and sustainable local economies.

Funded by the European Union under , the initiative brings together local governments, the private sector, and development partners to accelerate the Philippines' green transition and build replicable models for future circular economy investments across the country.
