LGU-Santa The Municipality of Santa (LGU-Santa) is a political subdivision of the Republic of the Philippines, in the Province of Ilocos Sur.

Santa is a municipality nestled in the central part of Ilocos Sur province in the Philippines. Bounded by natural borders, this municipality presents a gorgeous poetic setting: the ridge of Mount Tetas de Santa in the east; the winding Abra River and delta in the north and NW of Santa; and the South China Sea to the west. The river, the mountain and the sea contribute to its beauty, which made then Governor-General of the Philippines Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. on his visit in 1925 to say, “The mountain in the east, the winding roping river in the north, and the immense sea in the west make Santa a poetic town.”

To continuously boost agricultural productivity and support local food security, the Local Government Unit of Santa, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), is conducting a distribution of agricultural inputs (Corn and Rice Seeds, Inorganic Fertilizers, and Crop Protection Chemicals) on October 5–9, 2026.

Under the SANTA MASO initiative, this distribution aims to assist our local farmers in reducing production costs, improving crop yields, and strengthening the municipal agricultural sector.

The Local Government Unit of Santa, through its continuing commitment to child protection and family welfare, successfully conducted the Distribution of Food Packs for Child Laborers last September 30, 2026 (Wednesday), at the Santa Farmer’s Multi-Purpose Building. This initiative aims to extend essential food assistance to local families while actively steering young Santanians away from hazardous labor and back toward education.

During the program, Ms. Genevieve T. Balbuena, in her position as Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO), delivered a heartfelt inspirational message and passionately advocated for the Alternative Learning System (ALS). She encouraged the beneficiaries and their parents to embrace flexible education, emphasizing that continuing one's studies is a vital step toward a brighter future.

Joining the initiative, Mr. Sherwin Keith T. Abalos, serving in the position of DOLE ISFO Representative, also shared an inspiring message with the attendees. He reaffirmed the government's dedicated efforts to champion child rights, protect youth, and provide viable avenues for personal growth and development.

Behind every dedicated public servant is a team built on trust, teamwork, and genuine camaraderie. On September 25, 2026, LGU Santa celebrated the heart of public service during a vibrant Family Day filled with high-energy activities, friendly rivalries, and shared meals that brought every department closer together.

The morning started with high energy as the Santa Movers led a lively Zumba session to get everyone moving. That enthusiasm carried right onto the sports court for the Volleyball Friendly Game between the LGU Santa National Agencies and LGU Santa Local Agencies. After an exciting, fast-paced match, the National Agencies claimed the victory, with Hanna Dameg Bisenio earning the MVP award for her outstanding performance. The excitement continued with a round of classic parlor games, bringing out plenty of laughter during a modified Trip to Jerusalem with a "Bring Me" twist, the competitive Longest Line, and the fun, camaraderie-building "You Know Me, I Know You" challenge.

At midday, rank and file coincided with leadership as the entire workforce gathered for a traditional Boodle Fight. Sharing a meal side-by-side reinforced the spirit of unity that drives our municipal government every day.

The afternoon action shifted to the hardcourt for the Basketball Friendly Game, renewing the friendly rivalry between the National Agencies and Local Agencies. Turning the tables from the morning's volleyball game, the LGU Santa Local Agencies took the win in a thrilling showdown, led by MVP Morven L. Umipig.

Family Day 2026 served as a wonderful reminder that behind every smooth administrative process and public service project is a united, supportive team that works hard and grows together.

Effective public administration relies on dedicated civil servants who continuously strive for professional excellence and institutional growth. Beyond the daily routine of administrative duties and frontline service, LGU Santa remains committed to empowering its workforce and strengthening organizational solidarity. Demonstrating this commitment, the Local Government Unit of Santa officially commenced Day 1 of the Learning & Family Day 2026 on September 24, 2026.

The morning set a warm and inspiring tone, beginning with welcoming remarks from Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Jesus B. Bueno, Jr. This was followed by an encouraging message from Municipal Mayor Hon. Jeremy Jesus DP. Bueno III, thoughtfully delivered on his behalf by Private Secretary II, Mr. Ranz Dominique C. Dameg, highlighting the importance of continuous growth and unity in public service.

We then dove right into an impactful series of morning sessions designed to strengthen governance, privacy, and accountability. Municipal Civil Registrar Atty. Marc Rodney B. Pintor opened the lectures with a vital talk on Data Privacy & OSAEC, emphasizing our collective duty to safeguard public records and protect children against online sexual abuse and exploitation. Following this, Secretary to the Sangguniang Bayan, Atty. Khristine Camille B. Ramos, guided our employees through RACCS 2025, unpacking the updated rules on administrative cases in the civil service to ensure high standards of integrity across all departments.

As the afternoon rolled in, the focus shifted toward empowering our team's personal wellness and financial security. Mr. Brave A. Bactadan, Area Sales Head of CitySavings - Bantay Branch, shared practical, actionable strategies during his Financial Literacy session to help employees manage their personal finances effectively. To round out the day, Lester Aldrin M. Rayray, RN, Nurse III from the Ilocos Sur Provincial Health Office, facilitated an insightful Mental Health Talk, reminding everyone that to serve others effectively, we must first look after our own mental well-being and look out for each other as a workplace family.

A well-informed, empowered, and healthy LGU team ultimately translates to better service for every Santanian.
