Upon the directions of the worthy Deputy Commissioner, Kohat, the Assistant Commissioner (HQ), along with officials of the TMA, WSSC, Revenue Department, and Irrigation Department held meeting and after that conducted a joint visit to inspect the canal and irrigation channels for the identification of encroachments. During the inspection, it was observed that, out of a total of 61 kanals under encroachment, only approximately 4 to 4.5 kanals remain encroached, while the remaining area has been cleared. The remaining encroachments are currently sub judice, with litigation pending between the Irrigation Department and the encroachers before the competent courts. The Irrigation Department will share the details of all pending court cases with this office for further follow-up. Furthermore, it was observed that certain encroachments, in the shape of pipelines, pertain to PTCL and SNGPL. The concerned organizations will be served with notices for the removal of these encroachments.
