EGTC Euroregion Baltic

EGTC Euroregion Baltic Established in 1998, ERB fosters cross-border dialogue and joint activities.

EGTC Ltd Euroregion Baltic (ERB) brings together regions from Poland, Denmark, and Sweden to strengthen cooperation and support sustainable development in the Baltic Sea region. Euroregion Baltic was established in February 1998 and is politically solid and well-anchored cooperation in the south-east of the Baltic Sea region, consisting of 10 members from Denmark, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Swe

den. It was the first Euroregion to have formally included a partner from the Russian Federation. Since its early days ERB has been pursuing the goals of improving life conditions for its inhabitants, promoting bonds and contacts among local communities, and providing measures for a more sustainable development within the region. Comprising the regions from both old and new EU Member States, and the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast, Euroregion Baltic constitutes the operational network of substantial and effective links across the borders, facilitating the promotion of political dialogue and reform, as well as sustainable, economic, social and environmental development, and thus strengthening local democracy and fostering people-to-people contacts between civil societies. The co-operation actively involves both local and regional authorities, private and public sectors, and NGOs.

A new chapter in Baltic Sea cooperation begins! 🌊🇩🇰🇮🇸

As of 1 July 2026, Denmark has assumed the Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Sea Region (EUSBSR), while Iceland has taken over the Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), both succeeding Poland🇵🇱.

These leadership transitions reaffirm our shared commitment to a sustainable, secure, connected and prosperous Baltic Sea Region. Denmark will guide the implementation of the updated EUSBSR Action Plan, while Iceland takes the helm of the CBSS at a time when strong regional cooperation and resilience remain more important than ever.

At the same time, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to Poland for its dedicated and successful CBSS Presidency. Thank you for your leadership, commitment, and valuable contribution to strengthening cooperation across the Baltic Sea Region.

At EGTC Euroregion Baltic, we look forward to working closely with both Presidencies and all our partners to advance regional cooperation and create lasting benefits for the people of the Baltic Sea Region.

Congratulations to Denmark and Iceland, and thank you, Poland!

We are still feeling the energy from our General Assembly in Tallinn ✨

Holding our political meeting back-to-back with the Annual Forum provided an excellent opportunity to exchange views and discuss common priorities. One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the adoption of our political statement "Cooperation is not just an opportunity- it's our shield", reaffirming our shared commitment to stronger macro-regional ties.

What an inspiring and energising week in Tallinn during the EUSBSR Annual Forum 2026 – Resilience Edition! 🌊✨🇪🇪

Our members actively participated in the BSSSC Day of Cities and Regions, as well as in both days of the EUSBSR Annual Forum. These were truly excellent events — full of energy, smart ideas, and meaningful conversations about strengthening resilience across the Baltic Sea Region.

On 12 May, the EGTC ERB General Assembly Meeting also took place, bringing our members together on-site to discuss key organisational matters and move our work forward with renewed energy and focus. We advanced important steps such as opening our EGTC bank account, progressing with the recruitment of our future Director, and shaping the internal setup of our operations. A creative highlight was reviewing 13 logo proposals designed by talented students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk 🎨 — a fantastic source of inspiration for our new visual identity!

The EGTC ERB contributed to the breakout session “Mind the Gap – permanent cross-border platforms as silo-breakers between regions and the EU.” President Ms Maria Ixcot Nilsson shared our journey from informal cooperation to a formal EGTC structure, adding our perspective to a dynamic discussion with other EGTCs and cooperation networks across the region.

Tallinn🇪🇪 once again proved to be a place where collaboration grows, ideas connect, and cross-border cooperation becomes stronger than ever. Proud to be part of this community — and excited for what’s ahead for the Baltic Sea Region 💙🌊

🎉 Today is the day!

We are excited to share that, thanks to the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Euroregion Baltic is one step closer to a brand new logotype 🎨

For the past two months, 12 talented students from the Akademia Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku/ Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk have been working intensively on creative concepts for our new visual identity. Today, they proudly presented their outstanding proposals in the beautiful Patio of the Academy — and we are truly impressed by their creativity, dedication, and fresh perspectives. The quality of the work is at an exceptionally high, world-class level 💪

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Prof. Adam Świerżewski, as well as to Mr Patryk Hardziej from the Visual Identity Studio of the Academy, for their strong engagement and invaluable support throughout this process 🙏

🎯 Now, a challenging task lies ahead for the ERB partners — selecting one logotype that will accompany the organization into its new chapter.

It will not be an easy decision, considering the professionalism, creativity, and outstanding quality of the students’ work. Each proposal brings something unique, making the choice both demanding and highly inspiring.

We are truly looking forward to the next step in this exciting journey! ✨
