A new chapter in Baltic Sea cooperation begins! 🌊🇩🇰🇮🇸
As of 1 July 2026, Denmark has assumed the Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Sea Region (EUSBSR), while Iceland has taken over the Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), both succeeding Poland🇵🇱.
These leadership transitions reaffirm our shared commitment to a sustainable, secure, connected and prosperous Baltic Sea Region. Denmark will guide the implementation of the updated EUSBSR Action Plan, while Iceland takes the helm of the CBSS at a time when strong regional cooperation and resilience remain more important than ever.
At the same time, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to Poland for its dedicated and successful CBSS Presidency. Thank you for your leadership, commitment, and valuable contribution to strengthening cooperation across the Baltic Sea Region.
At EGTC Euroregion Baltic, we look forward to working closely with both Presidencies and all our partners to advance regional cooperation and create lasting benefits for the people of the Baltic Sea Region.
Congratulations to Denmark and Iceland, and thank you, Poland!
