Building Stronger Bridges for Indonesian Migrant Workers

Ambassador Susi Marleny Bachsin had the honor of paying a courtesy visit to H.E. Mukhtaruddin, Minister for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers of the Republic of Indonesia. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the next chapter in Indonesia–Portugal cooperation.

The Ambassador expressed her sincere appreciation for the Minister’s invaluable support and strong commitment to opening new employment opportunities for Indonesian migrant workers in Portugal. Both parties shared optimism about signing the Indonesia–Portugal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers in October 2026. This agreement will be supported by a series of strategic engagements throughout September and October.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Lisbon remains fully committed to working closely with all stakeholders to bring this important milestone to fruition. Our goal is to create more opportunities while ensuring the protection, dignity, and well-being of Indonesian migrant workers in Portugal.

Together, we are building a future where Indonesian migrant workers can thrive in a supportive and respectful environment, fostering mutual growth and understanding between our nations.

The Indonesian Language Online Course is back for Semester II 2026!

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Lisbon, in collaboration with the Language Development and Fostering Agency of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia (BIPA Kemdikbud), is pleased to announce the opening of registration for the Indonesian Language Online Course Semester II 2026.

This FREE online program offers you the opportunity to learn Bahasa Indonesia, improve your language skills, and discover Indonesia’s rich and diverse culture.

Registration Details:

Registration Period: 27 July–17 August 2026
Placement Test: 20 August 2026
Placement Test Results: 27 August 2026
Course Period: 1 September–20 December 2026
Class Schedule: Every Tuesday and Thursday, 17.00–19.00 Lisbon Time
Eligibility: Open to Portuguese citizens and foreign nationals residing in Portugal

Participants will be assigned to an appropriate class level based on the placement test results.
