Recently, the Foundation team, along with other local leaders, attended a "Life Languages" communications workshop presented by the United Rescue Alliance.

Throughout the workshop, participants gained a deeper understanding of their unique communication styles and explored how people listen, respond, lead, and work together in different ways.

Thank you, URA, for the ways you serve neighbors, especially when they need it most. For more information about this workshop or URA, contact [email protected].

The City of De Leon, Texas has been awarded a grant from the Windham Fund, a rural grantmaking initiative made possible through the Dr. Paula Windham Fund for Education and Community Development at the Community Foundation of Abilene.

The City of DeLeon was an inaugural Windham Fund grant recipient in 2022 and has since received support for downtown murals to promote tourism, picnic benches for events like the annual peach and melon festival, and 2026 grant funding for playground improvements at Bell Street Park.

This year's Windham Fund recipients include 17 nonprofits with awards totaling more than $413K. Read more about all the recipients here: https://bit.ly/4rAGNGD.
