We were honored to join Beard Construction Group, LLC, Louisiana Economic Development, and Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership for a meaningful Business Retention & Expansion discussion centered around workforce development, industry growth, and the future of our region.

As West Baton Rouge continues to grow, conversations and partnerships like these are essential to creating long-term opportunity for our businesses, workforce, and communities. Thank you to Beard Construction Group for hosting and investing in the future of the Gulf South.

We are better together!

Last week, we welcomed representatives from Louisiana Economic Development, Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership, and the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce to Beard Construction Group for a Business Retention & Expansion discussion focused on growth, workforce development, and the future of industry across our region.

Louisiana continues to see major industrial investment, workforce demand, and long-term growth across the region. In 2025 alone, the state announced more than $61 billion in capital investment tied to new industrial projects and economic development initiatives. Keeping that momentum going requires alignment among the organizations attracting opportunity, the communities supporting it, and the companies building the infrastructure behind it. All sides staying aligned on where the region is headed next creates momentum for Louisiana’s future. (Source: LED 2025)

We appreciate the opportunity to have meaningful conversations about the challenges and opportunities shaping our market and how companies like Beard can continue to contribute to the economic growth of Louisiana and the Gulf South.

Transforming the Earth. Building with Integrity.

What a week it’s been in the world of the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce! Here’s a little recap of all the exciting things happening around our community:

Executive Director Annie Claire and Membership Director Sharon Williams had a productive visit with the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership this week and learned all kinds of things — especially about economic development and acronyms with BIG meanings (still learning over here 😉). The Partnership continues to be an incredible resource for the Chamber, and we’re excited about opportunities on the horizon that we can’t wait to share with our members and community.

Tuesday evening, Annie Claire and Sharon connected with fellow Chamber Executive Directors from across Louisiana to share ideas, discuss what’s working, and brainstorm ways to better serve our members and businesses here in WBR.

Wednesday, Annie Claire attended LACCE Day at the Capitol — and WOW, what an exciting atmosphere! It was a great opportunity to gather with chamber professionals and partners from across Louisiana for meaningful conversations surrounding advocacy, connectivity, and the future of our communities.

We were honored to hear from Will Green with Louisiana Association of Business and Industry - LABI and appreciate his insights and continued partnership with Louisiana’s chamber community. We’re also incredibly grateful to Veneeth Iyengar and Connect LA for hosting lunch and leading a thoughtful discussion on broadband expansion and connectivity efforts throughout our state.

Wednesday evening wrapped up with our annual Membership Appreciation Crawfish Boil — and what a wonderful evening celebrating our members! More photos and a full recap coming soon.

Then on Thursday, we were excited to attend the ribbon cutting for West Baton Rouge Parks and Recreation's newest recreational addition — the pickleball courts at Alexander Park! We hope families and friends get out there and enjoy them… and who knows, maybe a future Chamber event on those courts is in the works.

WOWZA. Happy Friday, everyone! Thank you for following along as we continue building momentum here in West Baton Rouge. Wishing you all the BEST weekend — and an early Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there!

We love our small business members!

Small businesses are the backbone of the Capital Region's economy — and they thrive here because of the work our state and Chamber of Commerce partners do every day. During National Small Business Week and National Economic Development Week, we're recognizing the partners who give entrepreneurs what they need to build: resources, connections, and a region pulling in the same direction.

Behind every project announcement and ribbon cutting is coalition-making it happen.

Economic development is a team sport. The Partnership is proud to work alongside Louisiana Economic Development (LED), our local partners, and so many others to turn opportunity into real wins for companies and communities across the Capital Region.

To every partner who shows up, problem-solves, and pushes projects across the finish line — thank you. We couldn't do this without you.
