🦅💙 A SPECIAL RESCUE BY THE ADDIS POLICE DEPARTMENT! 💙🦅

Not all calls for service involve people — sometimes our feathered friends need a helping hand, too!

Cpl. P. Labauve and Ofc. M. Floyd with the Addis Police Department were dispatched to the area of Laws Road near Myhand Ball Park in reference to an injured young bald eagle.

Upon arrival, our officers located the young eagle, who has now been affectionately nicknamed “Victor.” 🦅 Unfortunately, Victor was unable to fly and needed some assistance.

Without hesitation, our officers stepped in to ensure Victor's safety. He was carefully handled and transported to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, where he could receive the treatment and care he needed.

👏 A big shout-out to Cpl. Labauve and Ofc. Floyd for going above and beyond to help one of our nation's most treasured symbols!

At the Addis Police Department, protecting and serving extends beyond our citizens — it includes the wildlife that shares our community.

🇺🇸🦅 We're all rooting for you, Victor! Hoping you'll be soaring high over Addis again soon!

The Addis Police Department would like to extend a big THANK YOU to the Dow Westside YMCA for hosting a wonderful Trunk or Treat event!

We had a great time spending the evening with the children, families, and members of our community. It was a pleasure seeing all the creative costumes, smiling faces, and Halloween excitement!

Events like these are a great way to bring our community together and allow our officers to interact with the families we proudly serve.

💙 From all of us at the Addis Police Department, thank you for a great evening!

‼️UPDATE‼️ The owner has been contacted, and someone is on the way to get the horses.

Do you know us? Addis Police Department has been made aware that there are 2 horses loose in the Acadian Crossing subdivision. Please contact us if you or someone you know may know the owner of these horses so that we can get them back to who they belong to.
