🚒 Working Structure Fire Response – McKownville

Early this morning, members of the Guilderland Fire Department were requested to respond to a Signal 30 working structure fire on Ayre Drive in the McKownville neighborhood, near the Albany-Guilderland town line.

In addition to personnel assisting at the incident, our Structural Decontamination Unit was requested to the scene to provide firefighter decontamination services for crews operating in and around the structure. Decontamination is a critical component of modern firefighting operations, helping to reduce firefighters' exposure to hazardous contaminants encountered during fire suppression activities.

We remain committed to supporting our mutual aid partners and ensuring the safety and well-being of all emergency responders working at incidents throughout our region.

We thank all responding agencies for their teamwork and professionalism.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for our area until 9:00 PM this evening.

Strong thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, heavy rain, frequent lightning, and hail are possible throughout the Capital Region and surrounding communities.

Now is a good time to:
