Alhambra Civic Center Library

Alhambra Civic Center Library The Alhambra Library is located at 101 S. First St. in Alhambra, California. The current Library building opened in 2008.

The Alhambra Library was established in 1906, to support the learning and reading needs of the community. The Alhambra Library welcomes over 500,000 visitors each year and provides learning opportunities, dynamic programming, and educational resources for all ages. The Library is committed to providing the best possible service to the vibrant, diverse community of Alhambra. It is over 45,000 squar

e feet and houses over 200,000 items in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese. The Tales of Alhambra Mobile Library launched in 2021 and makes regular visits to parks, schools, and other locations throughout Alhambra. You can register for a library card, check out materials, and pick up programming and activity kits at any Mobile Library visit.

Requesting crayon donations!

We’re collecting gently used crayons for children to enjoy during library visits. If you have crayons at home that are still in good condition but no longer being used, please consider donating them to our library.

Your donation will help provide creative, hands-on activities for young patrons while giving crayons a second life.

Donations can be dropped off at the Children's Desk. Thank you for supporting learning, imagination, and creativity in our community!

Join us for a reading of the children’s book If You Plant a Seed by Kadir Nelson followed by a hands-on activity where children are invited to plant their own seeds.

This simple but powerful children’s story demonstrates not only the process of planting and growing but also how a seed of kindness can bear sweet fruit.

No registration is required, but space and supplies are limited.

Our next monthly plant swap is almost here!

Join us next week on Tuesday, June 23 at 5pm in Reese Hall to swap plants with other gardeners. Bring a plant, take a plant, bring your seedlings, divisions or cuttings. All types of plants are welcome: succulents, house plants, flowers, ground covers, or wild grasses. Bring cuttings, starts, bulbs or full-sized plants.
