This morning for Story Time we read the book “F is for Flag”. David Manrrique presented a program on the history of American Flag and showed examples of the changes of our flag over the years. We learned there were several changes to our flag even prior to the American flag we know now. The library has several books to view and check out in conjunction with the 250th United States anniversary. The children were given their own miniature American flag and color sheets.

Today starts the 2026 Happy McReaders program sponsored by McDonalds! As an incentive for children to continue to read during the summer months your local library will issue the children a punch card. Each book checked out, read and returned, the librarian will punch the card. Once 10 punches has been completed, the card can be presented to your local McDonalds to receive a free Happy Meal. This program run from June 8th through August 31st

This afternoon students from Alton Elementary School visited our library for a special story time. We enjoyed two new books and handouts were given to the teachers of our upcoming Summer Reading program. It was a beautiful day for the children to walk down to visit us!
