Young Washington is a historical drama film that explores the early life, struggles, and formative military experiences of George Washington during the French and Indian War before he became the first U.S. president.

School buses will be back on the road soon across District 35. A quick reminder as we head into the new year: slow down in school zones, stop for flashing lights, and give crossing guards a wave. Small things can keep our kids safe!

Bonneville County received $3.5 million in state road and bridge funding last year. This year, that number dropped to $416,361. Statewide, more than $500 million in East Idaho highway projects just moved into the "unfunded" category.

I know growth brings frustration, but we can't build an economy on roads we're not maintaining. For the first time in more than 50 years, new reactors started up at Idaho National Laboratory this year. Now CEI has a building next door built to train the next generation for that work. A national lab making history, a college a few miles away preparing kids to be part of it.

Today, the College of Eastern Idaho opened its new BEA Applied STEM Institute, a partnership with the folks who run Idaho National Laboratory to bring nuclear, AI, and engineering programming straight to our high schoolers. This kind of investment turns "someday" into "next fall" for a District 35 kid who wants a career in one of the fastest-growing fields in the country.

About 17,000 Idaho kids take part in 4-H every year through the University of Idaho Extension: baking, science experiments, raising livestock, studying geology. It's a program built on months of steady work, and you can see it in exhibit halls in fairs throughout the state this time of year.
