ATV vs. Vehicle Crash Under Investigation in Turner

Turner, Maine — On August 19, 2026, at approximately 11:26 a.m., the Androscoggin County Regional Communications Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving an ATV and a passenger vehicle on Fern Street in Turner.

Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office deputies and members of Turner Fire-Rescue responded to the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a white 2011 Kia Sorento, operated by Ronald Bolduc of Auburn, was traveling eastbound on Fern Street near the Maine Department of Transportation garage when a Yamaha Big Bear ATV entered the roadway from a nearby trailhead.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the ATV entered the roadway in front of the Kia, and the operator of the Kia was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision.

The ATV was operated by a juvenile female whose name is not being released due to her age. The juvenile sustained injuries to her leg and head. She was transported from the scene by LifeFlight of Maine to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Bolduc was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. A crash reconstruction was conducted by an officer from the Lewiston Police Department. The Maine State Police and Maine Warden Service also assisted at the scene.

No further information is being released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.

Serious Injury Motor Vehicle Crash Investigation in Poland

Poland, Maine – On 08/04/2026 at approximately 8:35PM the Androscoggin County Regional Communications Center was advised by the Lewiston/Auburn Communications Center that they had received multiple 911 calls reporting a SUV vs. motorcycle crash with injuries at the intersection of Bakerstown Road (Route 11) and North Raymond Road in the Town of Poland.

Deputies from Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with personnel from Poland Fire and Rescue Department and the Mechanic Falls Police Department.

Upon arrival, first responders determined that the crash involved a SUV and a motorcycle that had struck the SUV while it was crossing the intersection, rendering the intersection impassable for a period of time.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the operator of the motorcycle, identified as Dylan Deconzo, 32, of Poland was traveling south on Bakerstown Road toward Casco and collided with the SUV, operated by Anne Emrick, 48, of Charlestown, Massachusetts as she was crossing west through the intersection on North Raymond Road. The motorcycle slid down Bakerstown Road and into the woods on the northbound side of the road. Mr. Deconzo, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and slid down Bakerstown Road and into the ditch on the northbound side of the road. Mr. Deconzo was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by Poland Fire and Rescue initially, and then later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland where he remains in critical condition. Mrs. Emrick was not injured.

A detective with the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with crash reconstruction. Witnesses on scene reported that the motorcycle had been seen prior to the crash being operated without its headlight on.

The crash remains under investigation.

The intersection of Bakerstown Road and North Raymond Road was closed for 4 hours and has since been re-opened.

The Maine Sheriffs’ Association is warning residents about an increase in phone scams involving individuals falsely claiming to represent law enforcement or correctional facilities.

Scammers are contacting victims and claiming they have an outstanding arrest warrant that requires immediate payment of bail, fines, or fees to avoid arrest.

In other cases, scammers are targeting families of incarcerated individuals, falsely offering reduced bail or electronic monitoring release services in exchange for payment.
