In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, 2,000 children in Lewis & Clark County find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thanks to Lewis and Clark Public Health, the Augusta Library has received an air filter making us a clean air space for the community. Please feel free to come into the Branch if you are sensitive to the smoke or need a break from it.
