What an inspiring afternoon at the 3rd Annual Spill the Tea Luncheon! 💙

Community leaders and supporters gathered in Waco to celebrate the incredible impact of the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children and the vital services they have provided to children and families for 50 years.

During this event, we were honored to present Angelia Orr for Texas with the Partners in Courage Award in recognition of her steadfast support of Texas Children's Advocacy Centers and child victims of crime during the 89th Legislative Session.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in recognizing the Advocacy Center's lasting legacy and commitment to serving children and families across the community.

CACTX recently visited the Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center to see firsthand how their team supports child victims of crime. During Child Abuse Prevention Month, we’re especially proud to stand alongside all the CACs across Texas working to provide every child impacted by crime the critical services they deserve. We were truly inspired by the intentionality and care infused into every aspect of the work being done to safeguard the children in their communities.

During our visit, Rep. Ellen Troxclair’s team presented Yvonne Evans, founder of the Hill Country CAC, with a beautiful necklace designed specifically with the CAC in mind—a thoughtful gesture recognizing her years of service and dedication to children in the community.

During Child Abuse Prevention Month, CACTX Chief Prevention Officer Ellen Morrissey was honored to present at the Inaugural Public Health Summit, hosted by Bexar County Public Health and the Kate Marmion School of Public Health at UT San Antonio.

Ellen shared key insights from a CACTX‑led child sexual abuse prevention initiative that integrates prevention strategies into pediatric healthcare settings, along with lessons from our evaluation partnership with UT San Antonio.

Child sexual abuse is a preventable public health issue. Collaborations like this strengthen prevention across clinical and community systems—helping protect children across Texas. Thank you to UT San Antonio for the invitation and for amplifying this critical issue within the public health space.
