Enjoyed spending part of the day in Caro at Biker Awareness Day with ABATE and riders from across the region.

Thank you to everyone who came out to discuss motorcycle safety, rider rights, and the issues impacting Michigan’s motorcycling community. As riding season gets underway, remember to watch for motorcycles and help keep our roads safe.

This morning, I was honored to join the Marlette VFW and community members for their Memorial Day ceremony as we remembered the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Thank you to the Marlette VFW for hosting this meaningful ceremony and for continuing to honor the memory of our fallen heroes.

Today at 3:00 PM, Americans across our nation will pause for the National Moment of Remembrance to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedom.

This Memorial Day, may we remember their sacrifice, reflect on the blessings of liberty they secured for us, and keep their families in our prayers. We owe a debt that can never truly be repaid.

Energy costs are too high, and families are feeling it.

I voted for a plan to put ratepayers first—focusing on affordability and reliability, not costly mandates that drive up bills. It also ends using your money to fund outside advocacy groups.

Michigan needs a practical energy approach that keeps costs down and the lights on.

“Energy costs are crushing workers, families and livelihoods in our state,” said Alexander, of Carsonville. “We need a more effective way forward that shapes decisions around a few key determining factors, like how much it’s going to cost ratepayers and how it’s going to impact our grid go...

I voted last week for a House budget that puts taxpayers first.

It cuts waste, avoids new taxes, and focuses on what matters — funding our schools, supporting local communities, and investing in rural Michigan. We also found nearly $2 billion in overfunding and are getting spending back in line.

This is a responsible plan, and I’ll keep working to see it through.

“This budget puts taxpayers first,” Alexander said. “Instead of unsustainable government spending, new taxes and hidden fees for wasteful programs, and pet projects for political allies, House Republicans are focused on the needs of hardworking people and their families. This is a transparent ...

Opening day of spring turkey season is here in Michigan!

Good luck to everyone heading out out today—enjoy the tradition, stay safe, and make the most of the season.

The DNR has introduced mandatory harvest reporting and reduced turkey management units from 14 to three for the 2026 season.

Michigan House Republicans took action this week to bring more integrity and accountability to our election process by requiring documentation of citizenship to register to vote. Protecting our elections is paramount! It's common sense that only citizens should be voting in Michigan's elections.

It was great to join with Matthew Bierlein - State Representative last week in recognizing the outstanding partnership between Michigan Works! and Aspire Rural Health System at the 2026 Michigan Works! Association Impact Awards.

This collaboration is making a real difference in the Thumb—creating hands-on training opportunities, expanding apprenticeships, and building a strong pipeline of skilled healthcare professionals. In rural communities like ours, that kind of investment is critical to ensuring residents have access to quality care close to home.

I appreciate the work being done to strengthen our local workforce and support the long-term health of our communities.
