OHI is seeking an experienced Maintenance worker to add to our amazing team! This is a Full-Time position. Apply on our website, Indeed or reach out to our recruitment manager. Interviews are currently being scheduled.

Minimum qualifications are:
High school diploma/GED preferred, plus 3+ years of experience in maintenance, basic electrical, general plumbing, and carpentry for buildings, grounds, and vehicles.

● Valid driver's license and ability to be an OHI-approved driver; reliable personal transportation.

● Ability to obtain/maintain: N95 respirator medical clearance and fit test, CPR/First Aid certification, and training in machine, electrical, fall, and hazard-communication safety.

● Willingness or experience interacting with individuals with disabilities.

● Availability for on-call work during major storms and basic computer skills.

● On rare occasions may be asked to come in earlier or stay later than regularly scheduled.

OHI is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us for our event: "Camping With the Stars" from August 17–21 at Camp CaPella!

Our annual camp gives the people that we support the chance to enjoy everything summer camp has to offer—friendships, laughter, great food, music, games, and unforgettable experiences.

Whether you can help for a few hours or the entire week, we’d love to have you!

Volunteer opportunities include:

🍽️ Lunch & Dinner Servers
🏕️ Event Set-Up & Break-Down
❤️ Spending time with campers and helping create an amazing week

Special Olympics athletes don't just compete: they lead. Through Athlete Leadership Programs, they raise their voices on boards, committees, and international forums, representing their community and helping decide the direction of the very movement they drive. 🏆

This Global Week of Inclusion is an opportunity to spotlight that leadership. While the world talks about inclusion, they're already living it: representing their countries, taking part in decisions that directly affect them, and proving that leadership doesn't depend on a condition, but on the will to step into it.

With this goal in mind, Santiago 2027 will drive a three-decade leap toward a more inclusive society, one that gives people with intellectual disabilities real opportunities to improve their quality of life.

Join Disability Rights Maine for a voting rights training!

During this training, you will learn about:
• Voting rights, ways to cast your ballot, and what to do if you run into issues on election day.
• Civic engagement and its importance in making a positive impact in the community, including opportunities to join Maine’s REV UP coalition.
• Tips and strategies for being well prepared on election day.

DRM will offer this session on two dates. Please register for the date that works best for you.
• August 12th from 11 am - 12 pm
• September 14th from 11 am - 12 pm
