The Village of Barnesville would like to provide another update regarding the ongoing Village Paving Project.

Milling work is planned for North Chestnut Street from Bond Avenue to Harry Dew Road tomorrow, Friday, August 28, and Monday, August 31, 2026.

🚫 𝗡𝗢 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥:

Please do not park along North Chestnut Street between Bond Avenue and Harry Dew Road during the scheduled milling work.

Residents and motorists are asked to make arrangements to have vehicles removed from this area so crews can safely and efficiently complete the work.

⚠️ As with all roadwork, the schedule is weather dependent and may change.

The Village of Barnesville would like to provide an update on the Village Paving Project.

Milling work is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Thursday, August 27. Crews will begin preparing the streets for the upcoming paving work.

🚫 𝗡𝗢 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥:

• S. Arch Street: No parking tomorrow, Thursday, August 27.

• S. Gardner Street: No parking Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28.

Please make arrangements to have vehicles removed from these streets during the scheduled work times. This will allow the crews to safely and efficiently complete the milling work.

School is back in session, and that means we all need to drive with extra caution to help keep our kids safe.

🚌 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀:
When you see a school bus with its 𝘆𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, be prepared to slow down and stop. This is a warning that the bus is about to make a stop.

When the 𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱, 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽. It’s the law.

Please yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and use extra caution when driving through school areas. Follow all posted school zone speed limits.

🚍 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀:
Do not enter the designated school zone and bus loading/unloading areas during the posted times:

• Barnesville Elementary School — West Church Street
• Barnesville Middle School — Main Doors
• Barnesville High School — Main Doors & Gym Area

⏰ 7:30–8:15 AM and 2:15–3:15 PM on school days - Signs are posted.

If a school bus is in one of these designated zones to load or unload children, 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽.

To help alleviate congestion around the Elementary School:

• 𝗡𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 from North Chestnut Street to North Broadway Street, 7 AM–4 PM on school days.

The Village of Barnesville is pleased to announce that Shelly & Sands hopes to begin the Village Paving Project on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, weather permitting.

⚠️ Please note: The schedule may be pushed back if weather conditions prevent paving. Any days lost to rain between now and the start date may also affect the anticipated schedule.

The following streets are scheduled to be paved:

• 𝗦. 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 — E. Main to E. South
• 𝗡. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 — Bond to Harry Dew
• 𝗦. 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 — W. South to Leatherwood
• 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 — South end only
• 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗸 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲
• 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲

With schools coming back in session, we need your help keeping kids safe on our roads.

When a school bus stops with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, you must stop at least ten feet away.

Slow down in school zones, stay alert, and always yield to pedestrians.
Drive smart, drive safe, drive the speed limit.

What an incredible day we had during our 7th Annual Barnesville K-9 Golf Scramble on Saturday, July 11, 2026!
