The Nature Passport Program will be starting up in September! During this event, you can obtain a passport and complete nature-themed tasks to earn stamps, with each stamp being an individual entry in a drawing for a gift card. If you are located away from the Bellevue University campus, you can still participate, as there are activities geared towards remote students. Tomorrow marks the beginning of International Bat Night, celebrated annually on the last weekend of August. Often misunderstood, bats play an important role in many ecosystems, providing pest control and seed dispersal while also acting as pollinators. Explore our library’s recent collections around the women’s suffrage, gender voting rights, and women’s rights overall. August 20th is International Medical Transporter’s Day for paramedics, EMTs, and air transporters. Our library has various health and medical databases that contain research on medical transports, such as: CINAHL Ultimate, MEDLINE Ultimate, PubMed, ProQuest Health & Medical Complete, ProQuest One Health & Nursing (new), and more. Explore how these workers travel through dangerous elements in order to save lives on time!

Each station is packed full of history, memorabilia from our archives, and fun games. You'll want to make sure you stop at all 6 tables to earn a full passport and then, before you leave, stop and recreate an iconic photo from the archives!

Announcing the library’s new signed copy of horror writer and disabili-babe Grace Daly’s The Scald Crow, in which horror, disability, Irish folklore, medical trauma (and more) are kindled, leading to some scorching scares. Through the story, the author shares experiences around disability and other issues that can help us navigate some of life’s challenges.
