Mayor Brenkus

Mayor Brenkus Back on Dec. 29th I was appointed by council to this position. Darrell Banks (mayor for the past 9 years) ran for Richland County Commissioner and won.

This fall, the Bellville village residents will be electing a mayor and 4 village council members. My husband Mike (of 27 years) and I moved to Bellville 17 years ago. Mike is an engineer for Toshiba Medical, fixing xray and cath labs throughout northeastern Ohio. We have three children (Lindsey, Mikey & Stuart) which graduated from Clear Fork High School. gh and through. I feel very blessed and honored to represent this beautiful village and the friendly residents of Bellville.

On Thursday, Mayors of Richland (one from Crawford) County were blessed with a grand tour of the Clear Fork Reservoir (during lunchtime) by Mayor Perry and reservoir officers. Did you know there is a 2.5 mile hiking path the stretches along the water on one side of the reservoir? They just completed a year and half long project of clearing out the shoreline so there is more area to fish and enjoy the water. Fishing, boating (no wake), kayaking, bird watching (especially the eagles and osprey nests) and sailing is encouraged but swimming is prohibited because it ends up being drinking water. Did you know it is illegal to fish by the spillway? For safety and security, cameras have recently been installed around the reservoir along with a new walking pier and a new fishing pier will be installed soon. There is even public grounds designated for hunting!!! They have a gorgeous wooden bridge with a pavilion that many reunions and weddings have taken place and picnic tables along the waters edge. Always great to know what resources are available for our residents throughout Richland County!
