The Bethel Library is inviting you to participate in our summer reading program!

For summer reading this year we’re going to make a Robot in the library together!
We’ll see the robot come together if we have students read over the summer!

To add squares to the robot template, play our Summer Reading Activity Bingo Game.
Play the Summer Reading Activity Bingo by completing the reading, library, and community activities on your Bingo Card. Once you’ve completed 5 activities on the card get one square for the robot. Or complete all 9 and get 2 squares! We’ve included a Summer Reading and Activity Log for you to keep track of the books you’re reading or activities you’ve participated in.
Get your squares from the library front desk, then add it to the robot template which will be on display at the library.

Let’s see if we can build the whole Robot together!

At the end of the summer we’ll have a summer reading participation party with an obstacle course, reading goodie bags, snacks, and fun for all our summer readers! Just read one book over the summer and you’re invited! Save the Date August 15th. Times to be confirmed. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram for all our updates.

Jun 12, 2026, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Moses Mason House (Barn), 14 Broad St, Bethel ME 04217

Join MLT and Ellie Oldach and Ella McDonald of First Light for a facilitated conversation about how, as non-native people on this land, we can start to repair our relationships to the land and to Wabanaki people.

This conversation will focus on themes from Peter Forbes’s Letters to a Young Spoon Carver. To access a copy of the book no-cost, please reach out to Georgia at [email protected]. However, reading the book is not required to participate in the conversation. Please feel free to join in if the topic is simply of interest!

This event will be in-person at the Museum of the Bethel Historical Society's Moses Mason House barn, but a virtual option will be offered to those interested.

Though the event is free-of-charge, registration is required.

Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
