Today, Rapid Risk Reduction join communities across the country and around the world in recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day and honoring the lives lost to overdose.
Behind every number is a person. A son or daughter. A mother or father. A brother or sister. A friend, neighbor, coworker, or loved one whose absence continues to be felt by the people who knew them.

International Overdose Awareness Day is an opportunity to remember those we have lost, support those who continue to struggle, and stand beside the families and communities carrying the weight of those losses.
For many, overdose is not an abstract issue. It is something that has touched their families, their neighborhoods, and their communities directly.

The grief does not disappear when the headlines move on, and the people we have lost should never become statistics.
Today, we remember them by name, by story, and by the lives they lived, not simply by how they died.

We also recognize the families, friends, recovery advocates, first responders, healthcare professionals, peer support specialists, and countless community members who continue to show up every day in the face of this crisis.
On this International Overdose Awareness Day, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to every family and individual who has lost someone to overdose.
We remember those we have lost. We stand with those who are still here. And we remain committed to a future where fewer families have to experience this loss.

History made in Kentucky! 👏

Oldham County Detention Center is officially the first in the state to deploy ONEbox®! The R3entry Program provides individuals with a ONEbox™ as they re-enter the community and to visitors walking through the door.

This past month, Taylor Golden went above and beyond by personally driving from Huntington, West Virginia, to Wilson, North Carolina to deliver ONEbox® overdose response kits to our partners at RC3. His commitment to ensuring these life-saving resources reached the people who need them most is a powerful reminder of what service and dedication look like in action.

It’s been a great morning so far at the Recovery Alliance Initiative , connecting with organizations and individuals who are committed to saving lives and strengthening communities.

The opposite of addiction is connection-

Macee connected with Shane Tidwell and the team at Recovery Organization Support Specialists over a year ago, and they’ve been putting in real work ever since.

Shane and his team across Alabama have deployed 200+ classic ONEbox units and upgraded existing naloxone storage sites with our co-location instructions-making sure people not only have access, but know exactly what to do when it matters most.

Partnerships like this don’t just save lives in the moment they create pathways to continued care, connection, and long-term recovery. That’s how we change outcomes not just for individuals, but for entire generations.
