As we head into fire season, we want our community to know that preparations are already underway across the country β and right here at home too. ππ₯
Wildfire response takes teamwork at every level, from local volunteer departments to state and federal resources working together to protect lives, homes, livestock, and our land.
Please remember:
π Create defensible space around your home
π Have an evacuation plan ready
π Stay alert to weather and fire conditions
π Donβt wait until smoke is visible to prepare
We appreciate all the firefighters, dispatchers, pilots, medics, ranchers, and volunteers who step up during fire season.
Stay safe out there, Montana. β€οΈ
Weβre ready for fire season.
The safety of firefighters and the public is always our first priority.
This year, weβre bringing unmatched capacity to the interagency wildfire response system.
With 28,000+ responders, 400+ aircraft and crews positioned nationwide, weβre prepared to respond quickly and reduce harm to people, homes and important natural resources.
