In honor of National Substance Use Prevention Month and Red Ribbon Week, New Awakening united the community for a powerful youth empowerment event. The youth performed a skit and engaged in healthy discussions on making positive choices and the importance of resisting drugs, alcohol, and mood-altering substances.

We’re very grateful to Balancing and Overcoming Life Adversities, WOMAN of WORTH, INC., and Raising Royalty Bhm for their valuable collaboration and support! What amazing organizations!

At New Awakening, the Change Your Mindset/Save Your Child 7 week workshop, led by our incredible Parenting Facilitator, Doris Barren, helps parents change their mindset and develop healthier parenting strategies. Each session provides valuable tools for lasting change within their families. The workshop concludes with a special completion ceremony, where participants receive recovery milestone gifts, a completion certificate, and enjoy a reception with great food and affirmations. We are always excited to celebrate with our participants when they achieve significant milestones!

✨It was an honor to attend the inspiring Gen-Z Back to School Teen Brunch hosted by Balancing and Overcoming Life Adversities.

✨This outstanding nonprofit organization dedicated to helping community members of all ages overcome any situation, mental condition, and/or physical condition. The Teen Brunch event was a powerful reminder the group on the importance of embracing our God-given identity and purpose. The guest speaker, Kennedi Moore delivered an uplifting message, encouraging our teens and preteens to embrace their God-given identity & purpose, and resist negative peer pressure.

✨It is awe-inspiring to attend events that are dedicated to improving our community and encouraging our youth toward success. A very special thanks to Mykea Jones, Founder of Balancing & Overcoming Life Adversities and all who helped make this community event a success!

✨We had an incredible time at the Recovery Monologues: Women with Voices event! This celebration involved soulful singing, powerful monologues and poetry, rhythmic African drumming, praise dancing, and other creative expressions.✨

A special feature was the Circle of Strength activity, where community members joined together in tying purple fabric, representing the unifying aspects of recovery. This event beautifully intertwined recovery, equity, and inclusion, showcasing the strength and unity within our diverse community.
