🚫🔥 BLANDFORD FIRE DEPARTMENT – NO OPEN BURNING

The Blandford Fire Department reminds all residents that open burning is prohibited. Due to extremely dry vegetation, low humidity, and forecasted wind gusts of 25–35 mph, there is an elevated risk of rapid fire spread throughout Blandford and the surrounding communities. Even a small fire can quickly become uncontrollable, threatening homes, wooded areas, and neighboring properties. Cooler temperatures do not eliminate the danger of brush fires. We ask everyone to avoid outdoor burning, use extreme caution with potential ignition sources, and properly dispose of smoking materials. Please help protect our community and our firefighters by preventing unnecessary fires.

What a roller coaster the last two days have been!

After this morning's disappointing news that our new brush truck would not arrive in time for our scheduled Open House, Push-In Ceremony, and Truck Blessing, we are thrilled to share some GREAT NEWS!

Thanks to the hard work, dedication, and determination of some great people at Town Hall, things have taken a turn for the better! Some folks went above and beyond today to make things happen, and we are happy to announce that our new brush truck WILL be delivered to Blandford just in time for our originally scheduled celebration!

That means WE ARE BACK ON!

Good Morning Everyone,

The Blandford Fire Department would like to provide an update regarding our upcoming Open House and Meet & Greet.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, our new brush truck will not be delivered in time for us to hold the planned push-in ceremony and truck blessing.

While we are certainly disappointed by this delay, we do not want it to take away from the opportunity to bring our community together.

Our Open House and Meet & Greet will still take place as scheduled on Wednesday, October 28th, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Blandford Fire Station, 93 Main Street.

We encourage everyone to stop by, meet your firefighters, tour the station, see our apparatus, enjoy some refreshments, and learn more about the department and the people who proudly serve our community.

A quick note regarding parking: Parking at the fire station is extremely limited. We kindly ask that visitors park at either the Blandford Post Office or Town Hall and walk over to the station. Your cooperation will help us keep the station accessible and ensure emergency vehicles can respond if needed.

As for the push-in ceremony and truck blessing, we anticipate rescheduling these events for the spring, when we can properly welcome the new brush truck into service and celebrate this addition to our department with the community.

We sincerely appreciate everyone's patience, understanding, and continued support. Although things haven't gone quite as planned, we are looking forward to a great evening of community fellowship.

We hope to see everyone on October 28th!
