TRAFFIC NOTICE – ENTRANCE LANE CLOSURE

Please be advised that the entrance lane from Hwy. 5/Blue Ridge Drive into the Walmart and Home Depot shopping center will be CLOSED today, Monday, August 31, and tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1, while utility work is still underway.

The EXIT lane will remain OPEN. Motorists will still be able to exit the shopping center onto Hwy. 5/Blue Ridge Drive.

Motorists needing to enter the shopping center should use an alternate entrance:
• Progress Connector entrance from Scenic Drive
• Progress Circle entrance from Hwy. 76/515, beside Zaxby’s

Please use caution in the area and allow extra time for traffic.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26

Beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, the entrance from Hwy. 5 / Blue Ridge Drive into the Walmart and Home Depot shopping center will be closed from Hwy. 5 to the intersection of Progress Circle and Commerce Drive.

The closure is necessary for utility upgrades associated with the Hwy. 5 expansion project.

The roadway is expected to remain closed until at least 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, or until the work is completed.

Alternate Access:

Motorists needing to access Walmart, Home Depot, and other businesses in the shopping center should use either:

Progress Connector entrance from Scenic Drive, or
Progress Circle entrance from Hwy. 76/515, beside Zaxby’s.

Please allow extra travel time, use caution in the area, and watch for workers, equipment, barricades, and traffic-control signs. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this work is completed.

PUBLIC NOTICE: GAS LEAK PRECAUTION
The City of Blue Ridge is advising the public of a low-pressure gas leak near Progress Circle in Blue Ridge.
As a precaution, the immediate area around Starbucks, Great Clips, and Aspen Dental has been evacuated while the situation is being addressed by Atlanta Gas Light.
We encourage anyone who does not have urgent business in this area to avoid the immediate vicinity of Starbucks, Great Clips, and Aspen Dental until further notice.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as crews work to address the situation and keep our community safe.
