Dear Chieftain Family:

We are aware of social media posts that have been going around that include a list of Oklahoma schools and communities, in addition to other parts of the United States. The OCTIC, also called the Oklahoma Fusion Center, and local law enforcement agencies are also aware of these posts and are working to monitor the situation. We do not feel that there is a direct or credible threat to our school system at this time.

We hope that parents will speak to their students about the serious nature of social media threats, whether used in a joking manner or not. We also want students to know not to take part in any group messages/chats that would in any way threaten the well-being of anyone.

We take the safety of our students and staff seriously. If you have questions or concerns, always feel free to reach out. We do not want to cause undue panic; we simply want to assure Chieftain Families that we are aware and are being vigilant in security measures.
