🏆 **Meet our 2026 Housing Abundance Awardees!**

Each year, we recognize the advocates, organizations, partners, and leaders helping move Massachusetts toward a future with more homes and more housing choices.

This year, we're proud to honor:

🏛️ **Legislator of the Year: Senator Brendan Crighton** — For his leadership on housing policy on Beacon Hill, including his work advancing ADUs, duplexes, YIGBY, and other pro-housing reforms.

🤝 **Partner of the Year: Andrew Mikula** — For his leadership in launching the Legalize Starter Homes ballot initiative and helping build the coalition behind Question 7.

🏘️ **Rookie of the Year: Youth Affordable Housing Coalition (YAHC)** — For bringing a new generation into the pro-housing movement through youth organizing, research, and advocacy.

🌟 **Rookie of the Year: SouthCoast Places for People** — For making an impact across the South Coast, from helping reduce parking minimums in New Bedford to launching the Neighborhood Builders initiative.

📣 **Rookie of the Year: Homes Not Handcuffs Coalition** — For bringing Pittsfield residents together through organizing, public testimony, and advocacy to push for a different approach to addressing homelessness.

We'll recognize this year's honorees during the **Celebration of Abundance Luncheon** at our inaugural Housing Abundance Symposium.

🏠 Thank you for showing up for housing.

On September 1, voters across Massachusetts headed to the polls and housing advocates across the Commonwealth showed up, too.

To everyone who volunteered, canvassed, talked with neighbors, and voted: thank you. Your time and commitment helped make housing part of the conversation. 🗳️

👏 We congratulate our endorsed candidates who won their races, and we look forward to working with them to advance policies that make it easier to build more homes across Massachusetts.

We also look forward to working with everyone elected this year who is ready to address the barriers preventing Massachusetts from building the homes our communities need.

Running for office takes time, energy, and commitment. We’re grateful to everyone who stepped forward to serve their communities.

And the work continues. 🏘️

One election won’t solve a housing shortage decades in the making. AHMA will keep organizing, educating, and advocating for policies that expand housing opportunities across the Commonwealth.

🏠 Make the Call for More Housing in Massachusetts! 📞

Now is a critical moment to speak up for two important housing reforms: statewide duplex legalization and Yes in God’s Backyard (YIGBY).

Join Abundant Housing Massachusetts for a virtual advocacy session to learn about these proposals, get key talking points and a simple call script, and then contact your State Representative and Senator to ask for their support.
