The public comment period is now open for the proposed sidewalk construction and pedestrian improvements on Main Street (Route 125), from Post Road (Route 138) to Center Street.

I joined my colleagues in the Legislature in signing a letter expressing our deep concern about proposed rate cuts that would negatively impact rehabilitative services for individuals living with brain injuries.

Section 102 services provide critical outpatient neurorehabilitation, including speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other specialized supports that help people regain independence and improve their quality of life.

In 2026, more than 6,000 Mainers are expected to experience a traumatic brain injury. These are our friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family members who deserve access to the care they need.

We must protect these essential services and ensure that Mainers recovering from brain injuries continue to receive the support they rely on.

I anticipated that the Trump administration might try to roll back federal vaccine recommendations. That’s why I introduced LD 2071.

With bipartisan support, we passed a law ensuring that a pharmacist’s ability to provide vaccines in Maine isn’t tied solely to recommendations coming out of Washington. Instead, Maine pharmacists can also rely on guidance from trusted medical organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

With President Trump now moving to change federal childhood vaccine recommendations, I’m especially glad we acted when we did.

Because of LD 2071, Mainers will continue to have access through their pharmacists to vaccines supported by trusted medical experts—not just those recommended by the federal government.

Today, a new law I introduced officially went into effect after being passed by the Legislature earlier this year!

LD 2071 ensures that Mainers can continue receiving recommended vaccines from their trusted local pharmacists. This law helps make it easier for families, older adults, and pregnant patients to stay healthy and protected, despite recent changes at the federal level.
