Dianne Blankenship has been honored as the longest-serving member of the Braselton Woman's Club!
Dianne's first meeting was in February, 1976. She's been serving Braselton as a key member of the Woman's Club since that very first gathering, and has dedicated her efforts to many different projects, with her favorite being the Braselton Library. On Tuesday, April 7th, a reception was held for Dianne featuring vintage-style refreshments and a cake adorned with white roses – the flower of the Braselton Woman's Club.
During the reception, Dianne was presented with a colorful bouquet and a proclamation from Mayor Ward and Councilmember Richardson, thanking her for her hard work and dedication to the Town of Braselton.
When asked about her experience with the BWC, Dianne shared, "It's been my honor to be a member of the Braselton Woman's Club for fifty years. We've had some wonderful projects, such as supporting the library and sponsoring a summer reading program for them. For many years, we've helped young women get scholarships to help purchase books and materials for college. I've met some very interesting and talented ladies and have many fond memories of the projects we've all worked on together, and I've made many special friendships along the way. Thank you, Mayor and Council of the Town of Braselton, for honoring me for my service."
