The City of Brea is excited to announce that it has secured $850,000 in federal Community Project Funding to support its Safe Routes to School project located in front of Laurel Elementary School.

On June 18, U.S. Representative Derek Tran joined City officials and Brea Olinda Unified School District representatives to present a ceremonial check recognizing this important investment. These funds will support safer school crossings, enhanced pedestrian connectivity, and reduce traffic.

Thank you to for the partnership in helping bring federal resources back to our community and supporting the continued success of the City of Brea.

The City of Brea remains opposed to the SR-142 S-Curve project and strongly supports maintaining the existing truck restrictions along the corridor. The City of Brea does support safety enhancements to the SR-142 corridor that do not risk degrading the quality of life, environment, for residents, commuters, and cyclists along this important corridor.
